Versatile and Delicious Vegan Option - A Must-Try!
I've been using Butler Foods Soy Curls for a while now, and they are an absolute game-changer for anyone following a vegan diet or looking to cut down on meat consumption. These curls are effortless to prepare. You rehydrate the amount you need in water, which only takes a few minutes. After squeezing the excess water, you can marinate them in your favorite sauces or seasonings. What I love about these soy curls is their versatility. Depending on your preference, you can chop them up for different dishes, bake them, or sauté them. They absorb flavors wonderfully, making them a fantastic addition to stir-fries, tacos, or a protein-packed salad topping. Traveling with them is also super convenient, especially when you need a reliable vegan protein source to cook quickly at a hotel or a campsite. They are non-GMO and preservative-free, which makes them a healthy choice. Without the added spices or sauces, the curls will not have flavor. Some people may not like it. But we are happy to eat them from time to time.

I keep reodering, that says something.
I ordered the 4 pack a few times. This time I ordered the 6 pack. That tells you something. Please note that this is a natural product and even though it is dry, it can go bad. If you order a substantial amount that will take a long time to use up, store in your freezer. Rehydrates easily, has a great texture, good protein source, absorbs spices/flavorings well, is a whole food product --- it is made from the whole soy bean, not isolated soy protein. Great addition to my panty stables and probably to your pantry staples as well.

Give them a try!
These are delicious and very versatile. My husband uses them to make Asian style meals, and they're a surprisingly good replacement for meat. We found that we like them better cold They're fine hot, too, the texture is just better cold in our opinion. I'd recommend these. Give them a try!

These things are game changers! Where have these been all my life?!?!
Yummmm! I like these a lot! And I'm usually NOT a fan of meat analogs or tofu. In fact we're usually omnivores... but my husband's cholesterol got high, so we're changing our diet. I wish I had known about these sooner in my life. After watching some YouTube reviews of these, I bought a bag to try. I'm so glad I did! They're not EXACTLY like chicken strips, but honestly once you get the corn meal breading on there and are dipping them in barbecue sauce, they're a good enough facsimile. You could probably feed these to the kids and get away with it. If I ranked them next to frozen fake chick'n strips, the frozen kinds would be about a 2 and these would be an 11! Yeah they go all the way up to 11! To prepare them, I did the following: - Obtain 1 large handful of soy curls (I didn't measure) - Soak in boiling water to rehydrate, for about 15 minutes. Drain and squeeze out the excess water, set aside. Mix up: - 1 small can of tomato sauce - 2 tsp liquid smoke - 1 tsp onion powder - 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar - 1 tbsp maple syrup - 1 cup of vegetable or mushroom broth Or basically anything else you might think tastes good as a marinade. I was thinking "tangy umami" as a flavor profile. Soak the curls in this marinade for an hour or so. Or overnight. Who cares. Then, preheat the oven to 385. While it's heating up, mix together: - 1 cup of coarse cornmeal - 1 tsp salt - 1 tsp pepper Drain the soy curls out of the marinade, toss them in the corn meal mixture to coat, and put them on an oven tray. Bake them until crispy and lightly browned, serve immediately with dipping sauces. This is a completely vegan recipe. There is no need to use oil for these, nor should you deep fry them - save yourself the calories! They'll hold up to deep frying, but why bother with the mess and calories and all that, ugh! A simple tray bake is FINE. Butler Soy Curls. Okay. There's a reason why people buy 'em by the BOCKS. I really wish I'd known about these earlier in my life. Honestly I don't even get why, if your favorite kind of chicken is chunks or strips of breast meat (which is how most people eat chicken these days anyway), why you'd even bother to BUY chicken if these are available. The ingredient list is short: "whole soybeans". The curls are cheap, especially when compared to buying meat. The prep is easy. They're plant based and a whole food. No sugar, salt, or oils added - you can add whatever you like, or don't. Diabetic friendly. I would dare say, keto friendly. No danger of salmonella contamination during the prep, no slimy chicken juice, no slicing. And I bet, if I chop up some of these in my food processor and season them up, they'll make a wonderful ground beef substitute, too. Looking for a nice veg substitute for chicken? Give these a whirl. You might like them!

Move over Costco roast chicken.
This brand is the clear choice among soy curls. -How the beans are grown and processed is a major plus. I've been a devotee of Costco roast chickens for years. Tasty, convenient, affordable. I am not vegetarian so it's been an easy option to buy a couple...bring them home...debone/shred...pack into individual bags and freeze for quick future use. THAT SAID: I've been bothered about how the chickens are raised (antibiotics, etc), and the mystery of whatever "spice" concoction is injected into them before roasting. Butler soy curls soybeans are grown without chemical pesticides, and contain ALL the soybean (NOT de-fatted) so all-in-all is a minimally processed food. As with tofu, there is no flavor per-se so they take on whatever flavors and spices you put in and on them. No de-boning. No antibiotics. No mystery "spices". I am in control and they end up like the tastiest shredded chicken I can imagine.
