We bought two of these, one for our 87 year old Nana and one for ourselves about two months ago. Our Nana mainly uses her can opener to open cat food cans daily. We use ours mainly for canned goods, like vegetables, etc... We opted for the hand held can opener instead of worrying about electric / power or a battery powered can opener. We live in Florida and can often lose power during Hurricane season so we needed something that works in any scenario. While electric or battery life is convenient, we needed something with either an amazing battery life or no reliance on power in case we lose power for weeks at a time like the last major hurricane we had.This is one of the easiest hand held can openers I've ever used. The blades are still sharp after months of daily use with no rust. The can opener opens cans quickly with barely a peep of sound! Our 87 year old Nana needed a can opener that was easy to twist and opened cans with speed as her hand dexterity isn't what it used to be. This can opener fits the bill!The speed it opens cans in still shocking! With minimal effort, the can opener attaches to the cans with it's magnet strength and a quick couple of turns and viola! Your can is open and ready to heat and eat! The only downside and maybe this is me being cheap, is the price! I know you get what you pay for, but again the price was the only downside in my opinion. The can opener is easy to clean, works well, isn't hard to open and close and cuts like butter into various canned foods including pet food cans. Try it next time you need to replace your old can opener!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is about the best can opener I have found. It works like a dream for people with dexterity issues. This product may cost a bit more but you get what you pay for.

Can’t go wrong with a kitchen aide! I tossed a Walmart generic brand away after the first time use and it failed to open ca can and fell apart. So I went top quality a must for RV living. So far no issues works as described looks like the photos posted.

I've been disappointed with more can openers than I can count. It's such a simple concept, but it seems very few can do it well. I'm a fan of Kitchenaid products, so I thought I should try this out. It did not disappoint. It's solidly built, and cuts very well. There's no loose parts or wobble with this. It just plain works.

Works very well, but it's heavy for my older hands that don't have as much strength

Nice sleek can opener, work great no sticking, no sharp edges and glides great. good value for this and just easier to grab and use instead of plugging the big one in. magnet works great

This Cuisinart can opener was surprisingly inexpensive. It has a very decent grip and it's sharp, cutting trough tin with ease and quietly. The addition of a bottle opener is super convenient for me since I'm constantly losing them. Not anymore.

I had previously bought a can opener at safeway, it was like $15 and very cheap and eventually broke. This one is way more heavy duty, great quality, and I can tell it will last me many years!
