Does this product have the HomeKit authentication chip?

According to Tado's site, it has the chip, and the software is still catching up:"The Smart AC Control already has the Apple Authentication Chip built in as it is also required for Apple's WAC protocol (Wireless Accessory Configuration) which is supported on the tado° Smart AC Control with the latest firmware. Our team working on the Smart AC Control is currently implementing the HomeKit protocol specification by Apple. We plan to fully support the HomeKit protocols in Q2 2016 via a free software update that will be provided to all of our current and future Smart AC Control customers."

Does tado work with amazon's echo (alexa) ?

Hi Joaquin, Yes, you can use your Amazon Echo to control your tado° . Simply enable the tado° skill and connect your tado° device as a smart home product in the Alexa portal (https://alexa.amazon.com). Once tado° is connected to your Amazon Echo device you can adjust temperatures with Alexa, for example: “Alexa, set the temperature in the Living Room to 22 degrees” or “Alexa, decrease the temperature in the Bedroom by 2 degrees”. Your tado° will receive the command as a Manual Control input which overwrites the automatic operation of the Smart Schedule for the default duration, defined in the tado° settings. We are looking forward to the future development of the Amazon Alexa API and will implement more functions as they become available in the Alexa API.
