Delivered the next day and was a perfect fit for my Compact C1. The only difference I noted was that it did not have the metal strengthening strip. The Miele one lasted 7.5 years. Time will tell how long this one lasts.

Wear and tear eventually takes it's toll on all things. Our miele S2111 vacuum cleaner is no different. 10 years in, somebody stood on this wand part. It's amazing what we learn when components break. Anyway, this wand was crushed by some foot or other (mine I think), and my wife immediately wanted to bin the whole thing and get some fancy, expensive replacement. You know the ones. "Hang on", I retorted, "it's just this little bit that's broken, not the whole thing!" So, fork out a load for some proposed upgrade, or just replace the broken piece. I mean, I wouldn't throw my wife out if she broke a finger! Well, it's terribly unlikely. So, long story short, research, browse, investigate, track down the part, and huzzah, I end up here waffling! This part fit perfectly, great price, vacuum cleaner as good as new(ish). I'd like to call it a magic wand, but that'd be too cheesey. I'm better than that.

Gave 3 star as it is not fit for my purpose.. I should have paid more attention before purchasing. But ad said fits all S series so had bought it. My vaccums (S5281) flexible pipe has a detachable round ring with two small protruding plastic bits. The idea is the plastic bend is meant to have two groves or holes for the protruding bits to slot in so that the flexible hose stays connected and intact with the plastic hose bend pipe. Unfortunately the bend pipe does not have those groves. It is a good sturdy product but unfortunately nor ideal for all S series. So do double check before purchase.
