A minor enhancement to a good product
These Smead hanging folders are exactly what they say they are - a heavy duty hanging file folder with easy to adjust label tabs.First off I like the heavy duty paper. They are made just enough better than the cheaper store-brand hanging files I purchased which tend to rip/fall apart when I overburden them with too many documents (which I seem to have a habit of)! These have so far held up to my over-stuffing abuse - not only do they stay in place but the metal rods that are used to "hang" the folders into the cabinet don't bend easily (like those store brand ones do).Second, there's the "easy slide tab." I admit that it took me a minute to figure out how this works. I got the tab snapped onto the folder easily but wasn't sure about the sliding part. the instructions say "to reposition tab, flex the tab away from you and slide to desired folder slot." On first try it didn't budge and I thought maybe I had snapped the tab in too tightly, but apparently it was just the way I was trying to do it. You need to just do it pretty much in one motion, flex it back a bit while sliding it. Easy-peasy!I had no trouble getting the paper label into the tab. Be sure to follow the instructions and insert the label with the crease side down. This is because the bottom part is just a bit thicker to accommodate the folded paper label. Plus, you can easily remove the label from the back by pinching the end of the paper label that sticks into the middle back of the plastic tab and then sliding it out.I like these and now have ordered a second box for my small amount of home office files. It's a minor enhancement to a product that is used by just about everyone in an office (and many who aren't!) Some things you can't really improve on and some things you can make just enough small enhancements to make a new version worth buying. These are the later.

Slide more easily along the hanging file folder glides.
My old file folders got stuck and wouldn't move along the slides or glides that hanging folder hang on. I was really frustrated, so I took a chance on these being able to slide along the glides. They do slide much more easily, are stronger, hold their shape, and make it far more easy for me to move file folders back and forth in my old-fashioned, horizontal, heavy-duty steel file cabinet. Problem solved. It was well worth it to replace a large drawer of file folders with these.

Great for memory box.
These were perfect for a memory box that I gave to a Mom at a baby shower who wanted a neutral color scheme. They are very sturdy and exactly what I was looking for.

These sure have gone up in price! From $13.49 in 2017 to $19 in 2021
These are solid file folders, no question about it. I last bought these in 2017 and just now needed some more, and I immediately noticed how expensive they were. It just struck me as being sort of high at $19 for a pack of 20 file folders. And yeah, I checked the price I last paid and it was $13.49 just four years ago. That is a pretty massive price hike. Maybe you can find these cheaper elsewhere. Either way, they are really good folders and I recommend them, perhaps not at this price.

They can take a beating
Our files in our office tend to get pretty thick. Normal hanging file folders wind up with the hooks bent and falling down into our lateral file. It's a mess. These hold up over time and use and we've never had a problem in the last 5 years using these folders. Highly recommend them to anyone with a busy office that is still forced to rely on physical files.

Simple and easy
Really wanted simplistic and modern folders for the acrylic file holder. I love how sturdy the tag holders are. The quality of the folder is so nice I can tell it will be durable and long lasting

These are nice and sturdy!
I needed heavy-duty hanging folders for my portable file box, which holds the current year of invoices at my office. Because there may be quite a few sheets in any given month, the regular files were falling out of the track and buckling. I could see immediately that the little "hooks" are much sturdier...made of brass, I think. Plus...they're pretty!
