Impressive. Most Impressive.
PACKAGING:The way that they packaged this unit was incredible. Everything was carefully AND thoughtfully wrapped to protect against each panel. Nothing was marred, scratched or broken. Excellent care.SETUP:Some of the best written instructions EVER!!! I took it step by step and it was very easy to put together. All I needed was a screwdriver!! Why can't all things be as easy as this? Everything fit together perfectly. Except the removal of the protective film. Some it were still left around the screws, but that's fine. Had no problems with all the screws fitting. Even the normal wood screws. The directions were spot on in identifying the parts AND when and how they go together. I can't say enough of the setup. It was easy and I took my time to ensure all was done right.USE:This brings me back to my old Arcade days!!! I'm a child of the 80s so I know what it was like to play this in the arcardes!! And to have it in my home, is just nostalgic and amazing. The price is not bad, although I did see it $50.00 cheaper elsewhere AFTER I bought it on Amazon. Of course. But still. I don't feel bad. It came with a riser which added height to the system and so I don't have to bend down. It's okay, I would've built a riser anyway if it didn't have one.It comes with 3 games; Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The Return of the Jedi sucks, but the Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back are cool. Vector graphics like the arcade, except The Return of the Jedi which is raster. You can configure each game to have more bonus, shields, and lives. Pretty cool. One thing I thought was that the Volume button was broken!! My son has a Mortal Kombat game and the volume button goes up or down or off. 3 positions. This one it kept moving left or right when you push it. Come to find out, the volume control on this one actually has several levels of volume!!! Just like a TV!! Wow. So it wasn't broken, it just gives you the option to increase/decrease the volume 1 level at a time. Wow.OVERALLI cannot stress further the positive experience of this unit. It is well packaged, well made, and so easy to put together. Now that we have two in our home, I feel confident to purchase more of these from Arcade1Up!!!! Excellent experience.

SWEET SWEET STAR WARS NOSTALGIA
I currently have 2 arcade1up machines (Star Wars & Costco Pac-Man Special Edition), and have the QVC Special Edition of the Marvel Superheroes cabinet on the way. I fondly and vividly remember my arcade days and always being appreciative of when I was able to score a stool so I could settle in and put some quality time (and quarters/tokens) in at my favorite game. Having a stool is a nice option, and the arcade1up stools are such a nice (flashy/graphic) addition to any game room. While these units are manufactured in China and not of the highest quality, I am very satisfied with the look, feel and functionality of the arcade1up cabinets. Those who are critical of the arcade1up cabinets (too small, cheap materials, too few games, nonsensical game selection/pairing), I get it. Have to say though given the price point of the cabinets, I believe you are doing yourself a disservice by not buying in. The newer (gen3) cabinets are graphically sharp, lit up marquees (essential to the arcade look/feel), so entirely nostalgic, decent quality (dual) speakers and monitors, and expertly machined fit/finish. The risers are absolutely required (I'm 6'3"), but the fact that they're smaller and lighter means I can fit more into my space, and easily relocate them. I'm not a 100% purist, but I do consider myself extremely picky with realistic expectations. These are close enough to exact replicas for me, the convenience and functionality of these products are spot on in my opinion. I do plan on modding my Pac-Man cab to raspberry pie with a new control deck from arcademodup. The Star Wars cab controller is cool, however I am a little leary of its durability. I'm holding out hope that there's a dedicated Tron machine on the way. If it's a killer game, with special controls like Star Wars, Tron, others...I'm all in and do not mind the limited number of games included. It is amazing to me that of the 2 cabinets and two stools that I've received, there has been minimal to no damage/issues. I've seen/viewed/read that has not always been the case (especially with the 1st/2nd gen cabinets), so I am thankful their quality control seems to be buttoned up as of late. If you've never seen them fully assembled and/or played them, you're missing out. Get them, the form factor - affordability - appearance - nostalgia feeling are awesome and worth the investment.

Yeah, it's worth the price! Particularly if you get it on sale.
I purchased my unit when Amazon alerted me to a deal of the day. $372 with free shipping was the cheapest I had seen this unit priced so I bit the bullet. Nostalgia had been tugging at me since it came out!I'll keep this quick: I took my time putting it together and the fit and finish was perfect in every respect. As others have already mentioned in many other reviews, the build quality and especially the feel of the yoke exceeded my expectations. The light up marquee is also a huge plus. Game play is, to my pleasant surprise, exactly as I remember it!I had a stereo aux cable splitter and one of those cheap $20 amps, so I added two extra four inch car stereo speakers to the rear of the unit to give the sound a boost - but I kept the original two speakers below the marquee intact. I'm considering adding a headphone jack bypass in case the kids want to sneak down at night and play with it. :)With the exception of the speakers being a bit underwhelming, I have to say I'm completely impressed! I hope it holds up well - if I have any issues I'll augment this review with updated info.
