Infant Optics Wide Angle Lens For DXR-8

This review is for the Wide Angle lens as well as the infant optics DXR-8 Camera. Since I received the camera from our baby registry, could not submit review. So had to submit review on the Angle lens website for the DXR-8 Camera and Lens. Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor with Interchangeable Optical Lens I have had the DXR-8 for about 18 months. Works amazing!...It was so good, that I decided to purchase the wide angle lens. My review is below: Pros - Easy Setup, just have to "link" camera unit to hand held unit, took about 2 minutes - Clarity, in the dark, you can clearly see the crib and baby, its black and white in the dark, but when the light comes on its color. - Can Zoom in if needed as well as PAN, TILT, etc...amazing! - Changing lens out is basically like screwing in a light bulb...super easy - Distance!...we live on the third floor, and I have taken the hand held unit all the way to the mailboxes, which is downstairs, outside, about 150 feet away....and it still has signal....between walls, elevator, and sidewalk. However as soon as I pass the mailboxes, then it looses signal...but 150 feet is pretty good. Cons - My wife can not live without it. Why is this a con? - see below Amazing Customer Service! - Basically last week, the battery was not holding the charge. So i contacted customer service, they suggested few methods and that did not work. Gladys one of the CSR, stated that i was out of the warranty period, HOWEVER they were willing to replace unit. I just had to ship them my old one!. BUT again, here is the con - My wife can not live without it! - so I could not send my old one back because it would be a couple of days we would not have a monitor. So I mentioned this to Gladys, and within 24 hours, she replied back to me stating they were sending me a replacement, and that they were trusting me to send my unit back. WOW!, who does that nowadays!. That blew my mind. I had to write a review!. I had to give this company props!...Anyway, I received the replacement yesterday and connected it. Works Great!...and Yes I shipped my old unit out today! :) Lastly, ironically, on the news today I heard all these fake reviews that have been hitting Amazon lately, and I want to say, this is not Fake, I am actually an owner of the DXR-8 camera as well as the wide angle lens. I DID NOT GET PAID TO DO THIS REVIEW!. I just wanted to let people know what a GREAT COMPANY this is and what an awesome CSR Gladys was.

The decision to switch to this new lens for our Infant Optics camera has been a game-changer in monitoring our baby. Initially, with the original lens, we had it positioned about 3 feet from the crib, but it was frustratingly zoomed in, and we couldn't get a comprehensive view of the entire crib, making it challenging to keep a close eye on our little one. However, with the new lens in place, we've achieved a remarkable transformation. The wide view it provides is a game-changer, as we can now effortlessly monitor the entirety of the crib, ensuring our baby's safety and comfort. The best part is that this upgrade doesn't compromise on picture quality; the video feed remains crystal clear, allowing us to see every detail with precision. This lens has significantly improved our baby monitoring experience and has quickly become an invaluable addition to our nursery setup.

This lens helps us to be able to see the whole crib with our infant optics camera. Does not change the video quality at all. Easy install.

I purchased the wide angle lens because I had to install the camera at the very top of my wall at the ceiling in order to get the whole crib in the picture. I was worried about the night vision due to other reviews, but the manufacturer stated that issue was fixed. It definitely is fixed because I do not see a different between the regular lens or night vision lens. Pros: - I could install the camera lower and get the whole crib and additional parts of the room - By installing it lower I could accurately use the temperature feature of the camera - Night vision and regular vision works great - Did not affect the quality of the picture at all Cons: - The night vision does have a 'hot spot' but this is more of a camera con rather than because of the actual lens. I had this same 'hot spot' using the regular lens as well. Overall it works great and I absolutely needed this wide angle lens for this camera in order to use it the way that I wanted to.

We’ve been using this camera for a while and when my daughter decided she wasn’t going to nap anymore we wanted a wide angle camera so we could keep an eye on her when she was having quiet time. This works great and was super affordable. My only complaint is that now when trying to have it just on my daughter's bed at night, that the image is a bit blurry but it doesn’t make sense to unmount the camera and take the lense off each time. Overall, would definitely buy this again and will for my other daughter when the time comes.

Wow! I ordered based on the reviews and I am very happy I did it. It works great! The picture of this Infant Optics DXR-8 monitor is very clear and it picks up the sound very well. I can hear my baby boy breathing. I added another camera with the wide angle lens for my four year old daughter's room and I can say it is well worth the investment. I can see her entire room. I wish I could see both rooms in the same time but the 10 seconds alternate view works too. Another great thing is the battery life, amazing. Overall a great product! It looks like this company listened to the customer's complaints about the competitor's products and tried to build the perfect video monitor. A little over $300 (including the two year protection plan) might seem expensive but I did not mind spending a little more for the best video monitor out there.

Worked well with my monitor, which was purchased in 2020. Both day and night vision work well. Allows me to view most of my toddler’s bedroom without having to move the camera as much.

The best baby and toddler monitor ever created.

This a a great wide lens only if it is used in a room with light. As soon as you turn out the lights and want the night vision to kick in, it gives a terrible picture. Even with the camera brightness on max it’s still very hard to see. We ended up no longer using it in the bedroom and instead have it installed in the playroom.

Does what it's told to do is a little pricey considering but overall I'm happy with the purchase.
