Clarington Forge Poachers Spade

I bought it as a gift for a great habitat restoration group in Marin, Ca called SPAWN. Was on their wishlist. They were thrilled.

I bought this excellent shovel for my daughter-in-law to tackle the Black Swamp clay in her new yard. She knew the clay is super heavy (like molding clay) in the spring and becomes concrete by July. She said she never could have planted her 7 roses without it. People around here break tools digging in our clay. She really liked the thinner/longer dimensions - penetrated the clay efficiently.

This spade is an absolute pleasure to use. It is more manageable than the square edged spade I have been using. The handle grip is comfortable and the length It is ideal for a shorter person.

Bought one for me and two for other gardeners. All report this shovel is fabulous for planting and transplanting. As with all shovels, shouild be sharpened with a file. Sturdy and with care will last a lifetime.

A very well made and well-cast tool. The feel in your hand tells of the great longevity it will have.
