Dream Reach Professional 6 inch Hair Cutting Scissors, Japanese 440C Steel Thinning Shear for Men/Women Cutting for Salon/Barber/Home

My old texturizing scissor was used very sparingly for decades for minor touch ups at home. Due to the pandemic, I realized I need to trim my own hair and those old scissors no longer cut it. So I purchased this scissor to replace it. The dream reach v-shape scissor has good weight, but not too heavy for my carpal tunnel hand. It has adjustable wheel (and a tool included) to allow me setting it to my liking. The scissor is smooth enough I can use it with both hands although I'm right handed. I'm surprised this scissor costed me less than what I paid for my old scissor decades ago, yet cuts better. I don't recall my old scissor cut so well even when it was new. Granted it I've only used this new one a few times and can not speak to how long the sharpness will last. But the quality of cut, ease of use, and the convenience is already worth many times its price. I will buy it again if replacement deem necessary.I chose the v-shape texturizing scissor because this is the style I've been using, as a direct comparison to my old one. Being impressed with the quality, I will be trying other types of scissors from Dream Reach maybe even the new style which I've never used.

My long thin straight blonde hair has gotten a little stringy during the COVID-19 quarantine. During a zoom meeting one of our chief officers asked if any of the staff had gotten desperate enough to cut their own hair. That’s when the idea was planted. I knew I need a good pair of scissors. This pair was reasonably priced yet more than a regular pair of scissors so I had confidence and it’s quality. They arrived in such a stylish sleek black box that made me believe the scissors could make me pretty again. I’m resisting the urge because I’ve been worn since childhood to never cut your own hair. I did cut about 1/10 of an inch off the bottom just to get a feel. These scissors are comfortable to use and cut clean and leave you wanting more. I put the scissors back in the sophisticated black box if I can still hear those voices in my head telling me not to cut my own hair. But I have been watching YouTube videos on how to cut your own hair. I don’t know how long I can resist. I may be giving in soon. Please send well wishes.

They're very sharp! Managed to cut myself right out of the box . I've gotten too used to my old duller ones. They're heavy as well, which won't matter much for most people, but I'm older, have arthritis and my strength's not great. I can see why they include a key for adjusting the balance, bcs if you don't hold them just right, the blades catch a little, but once I get a feel for them, I don't think it will be a problem. They'll do the job for me, since I got them for personal use. Male stylists might prefer the heft, but if you have dainty hands, they're going to be a little unweildy and clunky. Should work very well on denser hair.

A little heavy but great movement when sharp. Removes about 40% with a nice finish. I got these as a back up for when my high quality cobalt shears that look very similar are sent out for sharpening. They don’t hold an edge very long. Over all they’re great for the price, but you make up the price reduction with sharpening cost.

I was looking for scissors to texturize my hair not necessarily thin it. I find the scissors don’t really cut much and are hard to use and since I’m using this on myself I don’t have anyone to practice on. Maybe I’ll get the hang of it, but I wouldn’t buy these again.
