Great sleep aid and Amazing chapped skin soother!!
I got Badger Night Night Balm tin a few months ago. I was on a kick, testing out a bunch of mild aromatherapy products to help combat stress related to dissatisfaction with my work situation. I tried this - and the products below - because I had liked the Badger balm stick "Headache Soother" (Badger Headache Soother Size .60z Badger Headache Soother Stick .60z) very much as a aid for my chronic migraines. Although the scent of that product is light, and wanes swiftly, I knew it was effective and I didn't want a strong scent that overwhelmed my coworkers, either!Although I will briefly discuss the other balms I bought and tried, I will start with the Night Night Balm. Here are is my brief story and the pros and cons, as I see them. So, I got this to soothe me before sleep as I was under a lot of stress at work. I rub two or three finger pads along the surface of the balm and then massage into the area of my temples, into the hair, then down behind my ears and into the nape of my neck. The massage and the fragrance combo is very soothing!Pros:Natural - I love that this is a natural aid. I have found essential oils and balms made with olive oils and beeswax to be soothing and effective.Gentle - This product is very gentle. I recommend you exercise caution with new products always, but I use this balm on the skin around my eye and it has never burned the skin, nor my eyes, and I use it to the lash line. Here is the backstory on that:Each year in autumn, when it begins to snap cold and hot, and my allergies kick in, my left eye waters incessantly for weeks. It is not an infection like pink eye, but that allergic inflammation causes a poorly formed tear duct structure to work badly. I can get surgery supposedly, but that scares me a bit. The worst part really, aside from looking like I am crying at work, is that the constant moisture and dabbing cause my eye skin to become chapped. This balm soothes this issue better than ANY product I have used for the last 15 years. I have used balms without essential oils and balms with other oils, but this one is the 100% best one for me for this unusual issue and I won't be without it. For this odd reason, I would give this balm 1000+ stars, if I could. Though I realize this may be an odd use and most folks won't need such an aid, there are going to be folks with skin chapped for other reasons and they may try this out for more than sleeping because of this reason. It's worth a shot, I say!Effective - Well, I touched on this above I guess, but to recap, I find the combo of oils in this balm to be calming and great as part of a process to relax for bed - or anytime you need to unwind - but also to literally soothe chapped skin.Long-lasting - No, sadly I do not refer to the smell, but instead to the tin! It's a small tin at 2 oz, but it only takes a little bit and the tin lasts forever. I use mine daily - and right now in autumn I use it over and over all day long - and you would barely know from the tiny bit missing from the tin. Also, as long as you don't have weird issue like a watery eye, you will find the moisturization from the balm lasts a long time, leaving skin soft and supple.Cons:Only one - and I myself don't mind it - but be aware that the fragrance is soft and subtle and it doesn't last long, though I think part of that is due to nose-blindness and that it is indeed a gentle mild odor to begin with.Bottom line: I LOVE Night Night Balm, and will never be without it. Particularly in autumn and winter with my pesky watery eyes. You may like it for a sleep ritual, or for soothing chapped skin, too!====So, as mentioned earlier, I snapped up Badger Night Night Balm, along with a few others to try, which I will very briefly review here as well, so if you like one product in the line-up, you can see if you may like these other products, too:Badger - Sleep Balm - Lavender and BergamotBadger - Sleep Balm - Lavender and Bergamot (2 oz.) - 1 Pack- Bergamot gives this sleep aid / relaxation balm a stronger scent than Night Night balm does with its softer chamomile counterpart. It's more pungent and for me the scent seems to last a little longer because of that. I like this as a relaxation aid as well, but it may not be as gentle on sensitive skin. This doesn't work as well for the issue I have near my eye, for example, though that is a very specific and atypical use for these balms, I think.Badger Balm Stick - Aromatherapy Mind Balm Variety Pack - 3 PackBadger - Aromatherapy Mind Balm Variety Pack - 3 Pack- This is a great bargain! I got three sticks for $16.99 when they are usually ~8-9 dollars a piece. I picked up an extra headache balm - which I find very effective as a relaxation aid for my migraines, along with two other sticks which have great stress busting scents! Very recommended as a good mini starter pack and these are great to drop in your purse or pocket with the handy stick application that will keep oil off your hands.Badger Balm Stick - Yoga & MeditationBadger Balm - Yoga & Meditation Balm - To Center & Balance Your Inner Badger - New .6 oz sticks!- I wish this stick came in a 3 pack bundle but it's worth the cost anyway! It's my favorite outside of the headache soother when I have a headache. I rub this on at work all the time as it is soft enough to not bother people around me but effective in making me smell and go, "ahhhhhh!". I've gotten this as a gift before and the recipient loved it.Badger Balm Stick - Headache SootherBadger Headache Soother Size .60z Badger Headache Soother Stick .60z- I've reviewed this one separately, as this is the first stick I bought from Badger. I love it. It's not going to make a headache go away, but along with other aids, this stick's fragrance and minty tingle are very soothing. I have chronic migraines so I keep one in my purse at all times. Won't be without this one!!

Works for me wonderfully
I work night shift and my sleep is usually horrible one to two hours at a time since I’ve been using this. I’ve been sleeping like at least four hours solid so coincidence I don’t think so. I recommended it to my sister also.

~*~*~NIGHT NIGHT SLEEP TIGHT...LITERALLY, It REALLY WORKS~*~*~
My twins are 13 months old, take 1-2 naps a day & sleep in their own cribs. The problem? One of my girls normally wakes up several times a night crying, she'll normally fall back to sleep on her own but each time she was waking up she would cry anywhere from 5-15 minutes. She isn't waking up hungry and I know her cry when something is wrong like if she doesn't feel good but she just kept waking up maybe from a bad dream or something. If we do go in there when she wakes up like this she only gets more upset because she is tired and wants to lay back down. Unfortunately I think she inherited my sleep habbits meaning that I wake up all night long for no appearant reason. When my girls take their first nap they nap for about 2 hours. Even though they are both tired at that time there were many times when I layed them down that they would throw a fit for a while and finally fall asleep. Sometimes they would wake up after 30 minutes crying even though they are still tired and wanting to sleep.I figured that was just how things were going to be because I had no idea they made anything like this. Thankfully I was searching for natural sleep remedies for my Dad who is also a terrible sleeper like me and I stumbled on the Sleep Balm which had several good reviews from people saying it really worked. Then I discovered there was a kid version, this Night Night Balm and I ordered it.I got the 2oz tin which might sound like a small amount but I believe it will last a long time. I was thinking it would be more like a salve, like Vicks but I am thankful it is more like chapstick. You glide your fingers along it and it is a greasy/oily residue but it doesn't stay greasy/oily, it absorbs in.The first night I used it when we had been running errands w/ our girls for 2 days so they were already exhausted. I rubbed this under both my girls noses and all over the tip of their nose since they had a little redness from a runny nose, I also rubbed it on their cheeks & under their chin. Both my girls seemed to enjoy this and they were sniffing it. That night both of them slept all through the night and I didn't hear a peep! But I still didn't know if they were just exhausted or if this Balm was working.I've now been using this for several weeks, I use it at their 1st nap, IF they take a 2nd nap & before bed. Both my girls are sleeping through the night w/out a peep. And when they are laying down for their naps they are sleeping w/out waking up. My daughter that was waking up a lot would ALWAYS start crying if she woke herself up from sneezing or coughing but since using the Sleep Balm when she wakes up from a sneeze or cough she falls right back to sleep. If you are looking for something to make your child sleepy, this is not it. As it states I don't think it would make them sleepy, I just think it is soothing and helps them stay relaxed when they are already tired. The 3rd night we used this one of my girls woke up after being in bed for the night after about 2 hours. Why did she wake up? Because she had really bad gas and was in pain. I could tell from the sound of her cry that she didn't feel well. After some hugs, tummy rub & Gripe water I applied more Sleep Balm and she was asleep for the night. If you have a baby or kid who is waking up a lot, I definately recommend giving this a try. It is all natural ingredients which is the ONLY reason I will use it on 1 year olds. I wish I had known about this when my girls were younger too. If your baby is waking up all the time because they don't feel well, like reflux or gas, then this probably won't work but I'd still give it a try.My Best Friend has a daughter who just turned 1 and wakes up throughout the night and doesn't take long naps even though she is tired. I ordered her one of these when I ordered mine. She's used it several times and said she slept better but she keeps forgetting to use it so I'll give an update when she is using it more and report how it works.IF I find that this doesn't seem to be working I will post an update. IF I do NOT post an update about this not working, consider that this stuff works WONDERFULLY for helping my girls get a Good, Uninterrupted Nights Sleep. And I am going to try the Sleep Balm for myself. You can buy these at Cracker Barrel too. I ordered the first ones off of Amazon but we were just in a Cracker Barrel that had these on sale and we got several of them.**I also can NOT stress enough how important it is to establish a routine with your baby. My girls lay down for their 1st nap around 11am, their 2nd nap around 4pm and for the night at 8pm. This is their daily routine and it works perfectly.

Almost non-existent fragrance
Disappointed in the almost non-existent fragrance, especially the Lavender. I didn’t expect it to be long lasting, but the scent disappears in less than a minute. It was rather pointless and I will not buy this again. I will continue to use a roll on Lavender oil at bedtime. I gave this 3 stars only because my money was not totally wasted as I can use the base product as a hand cream/ointment.I wanted to add: This had an applied paper product code that Yuka did not recognize. Because this was on a metal tin, I was able to remove it without damaging the original code underneath the paper. Yuka did recognize that code. What is the purpose of a new code? This has happened with a few products I’ve received from Amazon and I wonder if they are seconds.

Not very fragrant
Wish it smelled a little more like lavender. I used this on a 2 year old for a few nights and there was no difference in their sleep patterns.
