Top quality extreme high frequencies
Astonishing high frequencies not found in any of many pedals I've tried. Exactly what I wanted for many years. Very tweaqueable, versatile. I am yet to master all controls.

Like it, has some great pre-sets
Like it, has some great pre-sets. And can do a lot of adjustments to what you want. Wish had a physical on/off switch for when plugged though. Others wise great.

UPDATE2 : Died after 2 months of use, NUX failed to follow up - DONT BUY
UPDATE:I've reached out to their "contact us" email address for the USA.I will re-update this after the resolution. Hopefully I just got a defective unit.UPDATE2: Then never reached out to me. I will never buy a NUX pedal again.I've had this item for a little over 2 months. It now crackles and pops noises over my amp and is totally NOT useful anymore. After the popping happens, no noise comes out until you reset it.Then you get maybe 3 minutes of play time before it happens again.I have not plugged anything other than a guitar (no active pickups) into this and then into an amp.I've used batteries and a 9V wall wart that works with all my other pedals.I did a factory reset, but that didn't help.********************************************BEFORE THE UPDATE IS BELOW*********************************************BACKGROUND:I've been taking guitar lessons for about 8 months now.Played on and off for years, but never really got past a plateau.Never owned an effect pedal till I got this one.WHAT IT IS:It's an multi effect pedal that lets you sample multiple combinations of different digital effects. It has a small looper effect as well.THE GOOD (UPDATE: Not good anymore it died after 2 months):It's great for the beginner. It's a pretty good starter effect pedal to play with and understand what different pedals sound like. You're not going to use this to play gigs, it's meant for just jamming out and exploring sound (in my opinion). This is a "good" if you like that idea. There are many different presets to just play too.The LCD is pretty readable.Head phone jack is nice.THE BAD:It's not a perfect pedalYou can setup custom effects but can't individually turn off effects individually. It's either move to the next set of effects or turn on/off one type.I wish the looper had more storage time, but as a intro to learn it's fine.I feel like the volume controls are crazy sensitive. When I transition from one effect preset to another (louder one) and my Amp goes crazy loud. You have to account for that.

worked fab for 6 months
The sounds are great, and after a little practice, you can figure out how to tweak them quite a lot. But now it cuts in and out like something is broken: It's 6 months old, so that's bad. I have an ac adapter, so it's not a battery issue. Bummer.

It looks great initially. But after playing with it extensively
There are a lot of functions in this small box. It looks great initially. But I am not happy with the sound quality. And I cannot turn it on with battery. I have to always use the AC adaptor. Not sure why.Make sure the power adaptor is high rating enough to drive the unit. Otherwise, the drum beats from the drum machine may be clipped off.The USB is support to be used for firmware update. I believe there are a lot of software problems with it. But no update is available. Some effects are emulations of existing products. The settings can be understood and found out easily. But a lot of them are Nux's own implementations, like "Nux Booster", there is no explanation on how to set the frequency knob. The "Solo Boost" using ctrl 1 switch introduces a vibrato effect when the output is booster. That is NOT what I want most of the case. To me it is a defect.Of course it is value for money after all. Good for educational purpose. I am a bit skeptical using it for performance.

firmware not quite sorted but I decided to keep despite its quirks because of its great sound and ease of use
Quirky little unit from China....firmware not quite sorted but I decided to keep despite its quirks because of its great sound and ease of use.Operation is similar to zoom pedals with effects that are placed in a chain. Each effect can easily be edited without accessing further pages as there are plenty of knobs/buttons on the interface.First of the quirks...USB dont work, so no idea why it was included, unless there will be a firmware release with associated drivers to enable PC to recognise. At the moment support page on NUX website is dead.Second thing with battery operation, the unit cuts out when battery display gets to halfway. Weird, but ok with power supply. The other strange thing are the drums. Each pattern seems to be set to a different tempo. If you chose a pattern and set it for 120BPM, then chose another pattern, it defaults to a completely different BPM.Last thing is there is no system menu to adjust display brightness (which is really nice in color & easy to see) but sucks batteries. There is no battery save mode so display is always on.Despite the MG200's foibles, it is a great sounding unit. If they fixed the firmware, it would excell!
