POC's Ventral Spin Helmet is touted as the most aerodynamic, well-ventilated, and safest road helmet ever produced by the Swedish protection experts. Its name takes inspiration from the guiding scientific principle behind the helmet's design: the Venturi effect. This scientific principle states that by constricting airflow in a choke point, the air pressure subsequently drops as it gains velocity. POC's engineers used this guiding principle to maximize ventilation by sculpting massive airflow vents in the front, which channel air inside constricted channels over the top of your head, then out from large exhaust ports along the sharp, trailing rear. By speeding up the flow of air inside the helmet, the Venturi effect means you'll remain cool and comfortable as you ride at a blistering cadence, even in the summer heat. Not only that, but the sharp trailing edges of the helmet and large exhaust ports smoothly reattach airflow coming through the helmet with that moving over the top, subsequently minimizing turbulence off the rear end, which is critical in making an exceptionally aerodynamic helmet. POC decided to upgrade the Ventral Spin's protective properties with their newly introduced Spin rotational protection impact system. This minimizes the traumatic forces from crashing at an oblique angle by allowing the helmet to rotate independently around your noggin in the case of an angled crash. Spin pads placed inside the helmet are fixed in place, but exhibit a bit of movement, which gives the helmet a bit of shear in the case of a crash. These pads are made of a silicone-based material on the bottom for extra impact mitigation, lined with traditional foam on top for sweat-wicking comfort. a nice helmet with aero benefits
It seems with this helmet from what i can see from other reviews is that it either fits your head and you love it or it doesn't and you want to love it or hate it for that reason. For me, it fits pretty well though because it fits lower on my head there's been a little bit of pain to start that's gradually going away as it and my head break in. All in all, I really like this helmet. It's not quite a super vented airy helmet but it does breathe pretty well so even on climbs it stays decently cool. I think the most fun part has been the free speed. This is my first bit of anything considered in any way aero and it does seem to hold some water. On flats and downhills it's just a touch faster for less watts which is pretty freakin neat. Gotta love "free" speed.

Comfortable helmet
This is a very comfortable helmet with enough ventalation to keep your noggin cool. I would recommend this helmet to anyone.

Helmet Is Comfortable
Like the fact it seemed very safe. I bought it for my husband as he was needing a new bicycle helmet. He says it is light weight and is protective.

A great choice for safety!
Helmet is very comfortable and I love the matte black look. Having said that, I primarily bought it for safety factor. I had a bad crash a few years ago and cracked my helmet in 3 places and suffered a concussion. I did a lot of research and this helmet seemed to always get high marks. The look may not be for everyone but I like it and highly recommend it.

Great helmet
Great helmet! Fits like a glove. Very well ventilated. As opposed to all other helmets I have used, it keeps the sweat from dripping on my glasses. Their alternative to MIPS is really comfy. Hopefully it works just as well. Costs $300 which is ridiculous though. .

Sweet
I love this helmet. It's exceedingly well made very comfortable and has great venting. It's also gorgeous and matches the orange on my bike!

Light comfortable and aero
I own 6 helmets mask giro and bell and by far this helmet is the most comfortable and invisible on my noggin

Great air vents
Used this for everyday road bike training. Have not used it in hot weather but am very impressed with the efficient airflow thru the helmet.
