Mister Seahorse

In a world where mostly mothers take care of the young ones, in a very thoughtful way, Eric Carle introduces to young minds real life examples where fathers spearhead this part of the duty. And in doing so, they take all the pains to keep their eggs safe till the babies hatch. The book describes the journey of Mr. Seahorse as he vades through water with eggs in his pouch. From Mr.Tilapia who can't talk as Mrs. Tilapia has laid eggs in his mouth to Mr. Kurtus who can't move as Mrs. Kurtus has laid eggs to of his head, the book beautifully talks about parental efforts. And what a way to end the book where after all the endeavour, the babies are set free to explore life on their own. My toddler enjoys this book. Very colourful book, there are special pages where Mr. Seahorse meets variety of sea animals camouflaged. The pages are very soft, high print quality. A very good addition to toddler's library. Personally, I would highly vouch for this book.

Book is beautiful and nice as all Eric Carle book. Beautifully written, beautiful story, beautiful illustrations and we love shining the light through the coloured pages. This is a must buy book. Book is suitable right from toddler to 8years old. Beautiful book. Amazon please pass feedback for seller they sent in polybag and book binding was damaged. So asked for return and replacement. Sad part is the seller issued refund and canceled replacement so disappointed. Will order again from another seller.

I was amazed at the quality of the book - both in terms of content and print. It is really a very well illustrated book and it clearly amazes the child and parent alike. It has plastic sheets that are colored and they flip between the left side and the right side of the page creating amazing illustrations. I would recommend the entire series from Eric Carle and I have gone ahead and bought all the other books from this author in the large size paperback edition.

Excellent book for preschoolers.

Very good book. The images are very attractive to kids. Even the content is very good. We also get to know different things about aquatic life.

Eric Carle's book "Mister Seahorse" packages so many wonderful themes in a slim volume. The most outstanding premise of the book is about how Fathers care for their children. But within that context, one can explore concepts of life in the animal kingdom. Many animals abandon their young - this book discusses how so many animal fathers share the responsibility of taking care of their young ones. The book has several pages that highlight animal camouflage. Essentially - there is a first transparent page with patterns of sea weeds printed on them. The following page has the picture of the fish. Taken together one can see the effect of camouflage My children love the layout of the book. Everytime we read this book, they get great pleasure out of turning the pages to discover the hidden fish!

The book is colorful and offers children a great reading experience.

This is a lovely book. It not only depicts the life of the sea horse but also gives a lesson on gender sensitisation. The father's out there learn from these animals, that child bearing and child rearing are not the exclusive duties of the mother alone, the father also has an active role in it. Thank you Eric Karke for portraying this aspect so well.
