great treadmill, terrible delivery
This is a wonderful treadmill! It comes ready to use right out of the box with absolutely no assembly, is very well lubricated, and is quiet. The last treadmill I bought I had to assemble and that did not go well as many of the screws did not fit where they were supposed to, none of those problems here. It has a lot of programs that keep working out interesting. The power cord could be a bit longer however, but it works wonderfully and is very easy to fold to store upright. It is heavier than I expected, so moving it around (like storing it under a bed or in a closet) will not be possible for me. I am really thrilled with the product. However, the delivery company, CEVA, was absolutely terrible! First of all, pay NO attention to the estimated delivery date, it only applies to when they expect to receive it into their warehouse and has nothing whatsoever to do with when it will be available to be delivered to the buyer. I wish I had known that from the start, amazon.com really needs to make that clear in their package tracking section. Secondly, although amazon.com can provide you with a phone number to contact CEVA, CEVA is only open from 8AM-4PM and I was disconnected often when their staff put me on hold. Thirdly, although you have to sign that you received the item in good condition, they do not even wait for you to open the box! They gave me no information on how to return it if it was damaged, so thank goodness it wasn't because you are supposed to cut the box open in order to roll out the treadmill. Supposedly, they call you when the item is available to be delivered but they never called me, I had to call them.I would highly recommend the treadmill, but don't expect to receive it in any less than 2 weeks.

Good treadmill, poorly organized Owners Manual
I have read the reviews and can make the additional comments: Delivery service was R&L Carriers and no problems - the guy was here within the delivery time period but would not bring it into the house - no problem because I live on a ground floor, and he helped to push it in the door. But, you may need assistance as the delivery weight is 162 lb. I opened the box after cutting the bands and voila! - there it was all wrapped in plastic and cushioned by large styrofoam blocks. I grabbed the "Owners Manual". There is no "Quick Start" section or parts list or arrows that point to the unit for quick identification that one usually finds. Consulting the manual, after "Remove from Packaging" there is "Stand up the Console". OK - I am a literal person and finally figured out that I needed to raise the collapsed console assembly to the upright position and lock it into place by turning the blue caps tight and engaging lock-downs. I could not get the unit to function until I finally figured out that the "safety key" needed to be inserted before it would operate - first mentioned under safety tips and again in operation on page 31 which is where I saw the requirement - a picture/parts list would have clarified this, but anybody who knows about treadmills may know this anyway (I didn't).The Owners Manual is poorly organized. The actual operation of the treadmill begins on page 30; you first need to wade through all of the exercise guidelines which should come after operation. While the parent company is located in Utah, it is "Made in China". The graphics are basic and not very instructive. The "Display Console" pictures are poor copies and not readable lacking arrows pointing to functions - the print on the treadmill display console is small and can be poorly contrasted. Treadmill technical specifications are not listed in the manual. Dealer specs list belt size at 17 by 48 inches but actual dimensions are 15¾ by 46¾ inches. After finally figuring out functions which took a little time, I have found that the treadmill works well and thus far have had no problems as some have reported. It responds quickly when buttons are pushed. It is a good walker and will go plenty fast - top speed being 8mph which is a run. The incline feature is a must-have. One is able to input data into a constant "Heart Rate Control program" for your age (very small print on display console)/target heart rate, etc. but no memory function or default which requires repeat of data input each time the program is used. There is a "Custom User Mode" that allows input for one custom program that defaults to those settings. I have not used the audio function so cannot comment on sound quality. Finally, while the unit is collapsible and has sturdy front rollers, it does weigh 100 lb and can be difficult to maneuver depending on your physical abilities, floor-plan, carpeting, and etc.Another issue is the large styrofoam packing blocks and subsequent solid waste. I hate having to throw this into the garbage, i.e. landfill and found that IKEA in my area (Seattle) will take the blocks and recycle them - you might research solid waste/recycling agencies/businesses in your area to determine if this is a possibility.

Buyer Beware
I purchased this treadmill in April 2010. Like other reviewers I started to notice a smell shortly after purchase. I too assumed it was new and didn't worry. Approximately 3 months after I purchased the treadmill, I was walking one day and the unit just stopped. It is very dangerous. There is no slowing and no warning. It just stopped. Luckily I was holding on and was not injured.I use the treadmill approximately 5 to 6 hours per week. I weigh 180 pounds and normally walk at 3.5 miles per hour.I contacted Amazon and was told it had passed the 30 day window and they would not refund my money. I was told to contact LifeSpan.I contacted Lifespan and was again told my money would not be refunded. As I spoke to the customer service person at LifeSpan I explained my usage of the unit and was told that at 180 pounds and at 3.5 mph I was using the treadmill for more than it was designed. I was also told my weekly usage was excessive. The company is sending a new motor upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 horsepower and a replacement belt. In my opinion customer service at LifeSpan is somewhat lacking.I have little hope the motor and belt are going to fix the problem. Make sure you do your research before you buy this treadmill. And please be careful if you buy it.
