MTM 38/357 Cal 50 Round Flip-Top Ammo Box

I’ve been using the MTM 100rd ammo boxes in various calibers for quite a while now, and have always been happy with the their fit and durability. I recently added a few of these 50rd boxes, and they’re no different from the 100’s. One big plus to the MTM cases over much of the competion (to me at least) is the hinged lid, which allows you to lay the lid down flat and out of the way, unlike others that have a tendency to sit in the way and close on their own.The 50rd capacity is great for storing/transporting smaller batches of loads I don’t shoot quite as often, and have been super convient for organizing rounds while working up new loads, instead of having to carefully separate and label different charge weights all in one 100rd box. Ordering a few more now.

Big fan of MTM’s ammo boxes, and their current P50-38-16 is no exception. While the older living-hinge version is shown on Amazon’s product page, they sent me the newer (and preferred) mechanical-hinge version. The mechanical hinge allows the lid to open completely and lay flat making cartridge extraction easier at the range. Note the slot depth makes it a bit challenging to remove wadcutters, but that’s the only issue I’ve noticed.

Works for .50 Beowulf, which is what I bought it for. Unfortunately, it does not latch well, which is an issue, and it isn't hinged like models I've purchased for other calibers (9mm, etc.), which likely would relieve the pressure on the latch which keeps it from staying closed. Holding such a heavy caliber box of bullets makes it even worse. As long as you don't mind using a rubber band or something to keep it latched, it should work for you.

Ideal for what I wanted and holds the shells (for my Webly bb and my ASG 38 magnum pellet guns) superbly. Comes supplied with differing labels (designed for real shells but can be used).The sizing is ideal for carrying in your pocket OR for storage in a gun case. The plastic is translucent so that you can make an easy check to see if there are shells there. The clasp is crisp and looks as though it will last a long time.Very pleased. Recommended

Bought to hold Colt SAA CO2 air pistol cartridges and they fit absolutely perfectly (no overlapping of rims). Highly recommended.

Awesome product love the low cost definitely will be buying more they worked great for my .45 long colt revolver replica cartridges. eventually will fill whole box and definitely will be getting these ammo boxes for my live ammunition. They are tough little boxes will not break easily unless you smash it. they hold a decent amount, of 50 cartridges and save on storage space and come with caliber info stickers also neat.
