you are right ....the tubing is heavy and somewhat rigid. i only use this when i am a doing pulmonary rehab at the hospital or rehab at home when i need a lot of O2.

Q: How is this better than a pulse type regulator?

This is not a regulator, this cannula is for those on highflo oxygen it helps reserve the liters for example when walking on tank ox I require at least 15 ltrs however if I have the oximizer I can go down to ten at rest I'm at 8or on the oxymizer I can go about 5. The little circle pendant basically stores the oxygen you take as much as you need. The pulse just gives you measured puffs of air at a set ltr as long as you do a strong enough breathing to get it. Oxymizer is immediate there just less waste of regular cannula so your tank last longer. Hope this helps

Q: Why don’t you round the tips of the nasal prongs so they would be comfortable to use? Seems like a simple fix?

I’ve used them four years. My primary use extend the bottle of D size 02 bottle setting up on the at 1 L and actually received 3 L relief hence extending the bottle for car rides and holidays. Not used for day to day. I worked at it thought about it I’m afraid what you have is what you have to work with place it carefully It’s loosely is about all I can advise.
