Do NOT Recommend
I’ve never written a review on a product but this is really grinding my gears. Lock looks good, but multiple issues with multiple systems.1) be ready to change batteries frequently, sometime only after a month or two2) Frequently needs to be recalibrated / software needs to be reset4) App frequently does not work and respond properly when changing key codes4) Having same issue mentioned in multiple other posts. Just after a year (about 14 months) which is after the warranty expires, one of the locks malfunctioned. In speaking with support, they outlined that the motor malfunctioned and the entire unit needs to be replaced. This appears to be a known issue. It’s absolutely absurd that a lock this expensive would fail after such a short timeframe with no recourse from Yale, especially for known product quality and malfunction issues

It works, but it's too fragile for every-day, multi-year outdoor use
So, I really like this lock. The look is great, it works pretty seamlessly with HomeKit (with the web module added), and is reliable...BUT...It has a serious design flaw that causes it to fail. And they won't stand by their product after the one-year warranty runs despite the pretty awful mechanical design. [I generally won't bash a product or company online until I've given them the chance to resolve it privately, but they seem to be unwilling/able to really help, so here it flies...]Here's the issue: The "automatic" unlocking is achieved by a small motor inside the handle mechanism. The motor is connected to the circuit board by a red and black wire set that are incredibly thin. These wires nest under a plastic cap and wrap around the lock-set mechanism, so when the door is opened with the handle, the wires are pulled and released about 90-degrees. In principal, this is a pretty good way of doing it as the wires stay in contact between the board (small plug) and the motor (can't see the other end as it's inside the locking mechanism). In practice, these wires are incredibly fragile. Making matters worse, in the winter they get brittle. So, I purchased this lock in November and the wires were fine when the unit was new, but the next winter, after 365+ days of the lock heating up and cooling down, one of the wires breaks, which kills the lock (you get a "lock is jammed" error on your phone and the lock chimes).I'm good with a soldering iron, so I've been able to repair it a couple of times, but the wire is so thin and weak that it keeps breaking (the soldered connection holds...the wire itself snaps).I raised this to Yale 14 months after purchase, took pictures of the issue, asked them for some help with getting the part or the lock replaced. They offered me a 20% discount, but nothing else. These are VERY expensive. It's completely unreasonable for them not to last longer, particular when the flaw is in the design. I've nearly replaced the entire black wire, but it keeps breaking off wherever the soldered joint ends. I can't replace the wire harness and can't get to the motor, so I'm out of luck if this last attempt doesn't hold.Again, while it was working, it's great. It's very disappointing for it not to last longer and for Yale to basically not stand behind this. I'll try a different brand next time and hope that one is made better and that the maker actually cares.

Does not connect to WiFi Bluetooth or anything app is horrible
This lock works great if you don’t want to connect to WiFi or blue toothThe hardware is decent and as a standalone keyless lock without connectivity it’s great. The hardware installation instructions via app were fantastic. The lock itself tells you how to program pin codes to unlock and lock it and to configure it within itself but when you go to set it up with the“Yale connect” hahahahahYeah that’s another story!!The Hub/wifi bridge that comes with it!Not a chanceAfter numerous attempts with the numerous amount of Yale apps designed for whatever locks they sell nothing would work. I was unable to connect theWi-Fi bridge that it came with to my network, tried multiple routers, and yes I was using the correct frequency that it requires. I was also unable to connect to the module that comes with the lock to the app or home kit or anything for that matter. Support was futile nobody ever answered, even on the web page it says it doesn’t setup without crashing after iOS 14.2No apps work with it at all regarding wireless use.The positive reviews on here are from 2019 2020 so that explains a lotSo in the end I will be returning it.Don’t waste your time like I did

make sure your phone can download app
This looks like an excellent lock, but my motoE4 with android 7.1 is not compatible with the app. If you want a smart lock that unlocks automatically simply by having the phone in your pocket, your phone must be compatible with the August app shared by this Yale lock. Any such Yale or August smart lock uses the same app, so check in advance by trying to download the app in google store or apple store or however you download apps on your phone. Also, for this lock there is a very specific app you need; google store had several yale lock apps downloadable but not the crucial one to make this geo-fenced unlocking feature available. If you really want this lock you could use it as an excuse to upgrade your phone if necessary.

Good lock. Took time to setup wifi
Easy to install. Setting up WiFi took couple of tries. Would prefer to have integrated WiFi rather than separate unit

Stopped working after 1.5 years
The lock will no longer operate using the keypad or app. Technical support has me repeatedly send pictures, videos, reset and disassemble as part of a script based troubleshooting process that has zero chance of actually fixing the defective product.Low battery notifications were not received so this final nudge to move to a better quality lock from another manufacturer isn’t all bad.
