Purchased to use immediately following hip replacement surgery. Hospital provided a pair of ice pads but they weren't adequate for covering the swollen area. The MAGIC GEL HIP ICE PACK WRAP AFTER SURGERY is large enough to cover and and reduce swelling. Because the swollen area was longer than it was wide, I removed the straps and placed the MAGIC GEL HIP ICE PACK along the side of my hip and upper thigh. It might have been important to use the straps if I was icing while walking; but I only applied the HIP ICE PACK during intervals of rest. It gets cold quickly when laid flat in the freezer. I used a frozen pizza box for stability. The GEL HIP ICE PACK stayed ice cold far longer than intermittent ice therapy required. I used it every couple of hours, but the ICE PACK was frozen and ready to use within an hour in the freezer. The cover is water resistant and easy to wipe off with a damp or wet sponge (reserved for the use). The bright purple fabric and fuschia trim made it seem more fun than therapeutic, though ice therapy after hip replacement is essential for managing discomfort and swelling. Highly recommend the MAGIC GEL HIP ICE PACK WRAP AFTER SURGERY. Haven't tried it yet but I am certain it's just the right size and shape for soothing my next bachache.

Perfect ice pack to keep pain & swelling at bay after hip surgery. Stays cold for a long time, but read instructions for duration of use. No need to spend more money on a different brand. Straps work well and it has just the right amount of flexibility to be comfortable.

The ice pad is pretty good. No big issues. But the buckles that you pull the straps through don't stay in a good position. They quickly get twisted off center. The ice pad still works, but the buckle design is annoying.

One of the better ice packs I've purchased. The straps are strong and well-attached. The cover material is durable, and the inside freezy stuff is thick enough to stay frozen a couple hours or more. Make sure you wrap it in a towel, partly to trap condensation, party to protect your skin from too much cold action. I see others saying its stiff when first out of the freezer. I have a dedication freezer that gets extra-cold, but I have not experienced any issues about flexibility. Also, I like the asymmetry of the straps, so one can go around my waist while the other goes around my thigh if I want to focus on just one hip. HOT TIP: For use on your whole back, make sure the long strap is sticking out after you wrap in a towel. Now, take that long strap and go AROUND THE BACK of your chair, and attach it with the Velcro again. This keeps everything in place even if you fidget in your chair. Plus, you can get up and down without the ice pack sliding around.

This worked very well post hip replacement. Though it's a little difficult to put on, I managed. (If you're flexible, you should have no issues) I like how it hug the hip and covered it completely. The thick ice pack stayed cold for quite awhile, relieving the pain. You also can still use it for its purpose without using the clasp. Just lay it over your hip with the chair side pressing it in place. It was used quite a lot and still looks almost new. A good investment.

The product works well and keeps in place. Worked very nice after my hip replacement. Very comfortable fit and adjustable as well.

Wonderful product. Keep your hip iced while you are walking or resting. Comfortable and sturdy. I am 5’3” 118 lbs and the fit was good with room to spare. Very well made.

Covers most of the painful area but lower strap would cut off all blood circulation if attached around my large thigh so I added an elastic band to lengthen it. Top band is great
