Alvin 12-Inch Computing Trig-Scale Adjustable Triangle (LX712K)

Not well made, cheap plastic. It's ok to use ,just use with care

This adjustable triangle is a staple of every Architects tool collection. This Alvin triangle is well made and will likely last as long as the last one I had, 40 years.

Great Trig Adjustable Triangle.The edges have relief cut into the edge for inking. The only thing is the thickness of the red indicator line, which makes it a little harder to line up with the black lines of the triangle. My older model does not have a relief cut. I word of advice, do not over tighten the knob. You could possibly pull the knob anchor, out of the triangle. This is a weak point. The other thing i wish it had was a hole in one of the sides, for hanging this very large triangle, for storage. I do not like laying any of my templates for storage.hanging them makes it easier to store, so i drilled my own. It would be better if it came with one already drilled.

Have mine for for a while now. Still works well.

The picture shows pointed ends. The reality is rounded ends, which I'm not really pleased with. I draw for a living, so I'm sensitive to these things. I made the mistake of getting this, which has a recessed edge for ink...doesn't work well with pencil. I might have to replace it. Otherwise, it works fine.

Other than the lettering seems a bit thin, I like the adjustable triangle. The edge is recessed so ink won't bleed underneath. This wasn't something I saw in the description but since I wanted it primarily for ink work, I'm pretty happy with that. The blue tint makes it stand out on your drawing paper. I haven't tested it for accuracy but that isn't a concern for me.

I get prefect measurements everytime and I've even dropped it once or twice; it still looks brand new. Would definitely buy again if I needed to.

Amazing. Perfect size, excellent quality. I couldn’t function without one, and I wouldn’t choose any other brand to have on my desk. I use it on average 10 hours a day, non-stop most of the time. Functions like new after 6 months.
