Here's the info Android users will want!
I just bought this so I can't speak about longevity but I wanted to share information I wish I could have found more easily before buying! I'm on a Pixel 9, so this pertains to Android.- Connects as an input device. It does not interfere with your earbuds connection, and controls on your earbuds will also still work. You might need to click an option on-screen to tell Android you want to see the on-screen keyboard even though you have an input device connected. No big deal.- There's a button at the top of the device you hold to pair. If you single tap it the camera app opens, and then pressing the volume buttons take photos.- Holding the play/pause button requests the assistant (e.g. Google Gemini) when your phone is unlocked and when it's locked, though you have to enable that in the assistant settings - that's normal android stuff.- Play/Pause, volume up/down, next/prev track all seem to work as you'd expect. In addition, at least on Play Music, holding the next/prev track buttons performs a short seek forwards or backwards.- If you have Personal Safety set up on your phone to handle an emergency when you press the phone power button 5 times, be aware that pressing the pairing button on this controller 5 times (6 if it needs to reconnect first) will do the same thing. I didn't know this originally, and ended up calling 911 while I was just trying to reactivate this buttons. Oops!- It's a good size for fitting inside a glove or just holding so you don't have to mess with your earbud controls constantly.- Yes, it's hard to see except in good light. Recoil seems to have other models with different color schemes but Amazon doesn't seem to stock them yet. I will probably add some white paint on mine.- It does have a USB mini slot for charging, USB C would have been much nicer.- Haven't tried mounting it, won't be using it like that personally. All in all, an excellent solution for people who like to walk/hike/bike/skate/skii.Update after a week of use:- The fact that it's round makes it incredibly difficult to know what buttons you're pressing if you have this inside a glove in the cold. I may have to modify mine. The manufacturer should include a case to add some easy to hold and identify orientation shape to this.- I wish there was protection against holding the volume up button. Because I couldn't tell which button was under my thumb inside my glove I held volume up instead of the assistant button and blew my ears out. That's bad, especially since the buttons are right next to each other. There's no reason you'd need to hold volume up, that should be disabled by the manufacturer.- It really is brutally hard to see the button graphics in dim light.- I haven't experienced any of the battery life issues some reviewers talk about, and I wonder if they had a stuck button preventing the device from sleeping.

Perfect!
I used this for mountain biking. I use an off-line music player with bluetooth speaker, and this device works perfectly. I've had similar devices that connected intermittently, or the buttons did always function as they should. All the buttons work appropriately on this device, connects every time, stays connected and is inexpensive. Some have criticized that the rubber bar band doesn't hold or breaks, but if you have a tapered handlebar, it's really easy to attach this device at the skinny end of the bar and just slide it toward the fatter part of the bar. No sliding. No slippage. Great device.

Buttons are hard to see
Buttons are hard to see and understand what they do. You have to memorize their positions.

controls phone only but works great
Got this for my bluetooth radio on my golf cart. As long as you understand it only controls your phone, and not the bluetooth of the golf carts system, then you can't go wrong. If you want to control the volume or station of the radio, it does not do that.

Good, but with some drawbacks.
To make this quick, I bought this unit to use as a music remote while I’m at work, so that I don’t have to touch my phone. My hands are usually gloved and the gloves get dirty, so I wanted something that I could toggle through songs and control the volume with, without having to touch my phone or constantly take my gloves off for.Out of everything I looked at on here, I liked the design of this unit over the others. It had nice big rubber buttons, was small enough that it wasn’t cumbersome, and it had a clip on the back that I could hook onto my pants pocket.Overall, I liked the unit, but there were some drawbacks.1) It didn’t last.I’m very careful with how I handle my electronics, and after buying this thing in March, the charge port is already broken and I can no longer use the unit. The charge port itself has completely separated from the computer board inside the housing. What’s even more disturbing is about half of the 7 month period that I’ve owned this unit, I wasn’t even working, so it had more of a 3-4 month lifespan.2) It would sometimes act erratically.I’m assuming this only happened when the battery was low, but sometimes, when I’d hit a button on the unit, it would treat a button press as if you’re holding the button down and would go to whatever the limit was of the button you pressed. For instance, the button would be pressed and it would hold down the fast-forward/rewind button until it topped out at the fastest forwardable/reversible speed. Same goes for the volume control; it would go to max volume or turn the volume all the way down when pressing the respective buttons. Honestly, was really annoying when you’re trying to focus on what you’re doing. I’d usually just pause whatever I’m listening to and stop using the unit until I could recharge it.Overall, I liked the unit, but at $28, I think I’ll look elsewhere and try something else out before I buy another one. If it were $15, I’d just buy a few and deal with it, but having bought one at it’s current price, I might as well pay a little more and find something that’s a bit more durable.

Good
I like this little thing. Your steering wheel will be a big factor in how much you like if of course, but it works well on mine. Connects quick and battery lasts long.

Useless, loses connection way too quickly and doesn't reconnect
This device was a promising purchase to help control music while riding my motorcycle. But, in the end, it didn't work out due to poor connectivity. I would start my ride with it connected, it would work for a while, then go into battery saving mode (disconnects from the phone) and then attempts to reconnect when you press a button later. The problem lies in the fact that it rarely would reconnect with my phone and just sit there flashing until I stopped, opened my phone, and then hit the connect button. Way too expensive of a product to function so poorly. Additionally, who thought it was a good idea to have matte black buttons with mildly recessed button labels with no difference in color? Useless.
