I'm not a buck fan. But this is a nice knife.
This knife is surprisingly nice. Comes shaving sharp from the box. Solid build quality too. I honestly wasn't expecting much from buck but this is good. The knife has a pretty think spine for the length of the blade and the hollow grid brings it down to a fine edge. The sheath is a basic leather sheath save the plastic insert. It has a small drainage hole in the bottom and though it doesn't snap in, it does securely hold the knife in place.Lastly I think this is a excellent value. The smaller blade keeps it light on the belt while giving enough for field dressing and skinning game. It's also a good size if you wanted to carry it as a EDC I think. I love the classic build materials that will age overtime. It's gonna get a lot of use real soon.

Value for dollar!!
Fit, finish..perfection. Mine came sharp enough to slice paper, and/or tomatoes with Armadillo skin!! Mine only reinforces the Buck legendary quality. Highly recommend. Note size and buy what you prefer for your needs.PS..Sheath is pretty good, with plastic liner. I prefer to remove plastic liner and wet form it. Hopefully a better fit.

What a fabulous knife
I have never owned a Buck knife before, but the 113 looked like just the knife for me: fixed blade, not to large. I was so impressed when I got it. It has a great solid/heavy feel to it and is so well made with a perfect finish. And it is made in the USA too! How can you beat all this? I highly recommend this knife!

Great knife
The knife looks beautiful in person first of all, and came absolutely razor sharp, it shaved the hairs on my arm no problem. The only things i have to nit pick about are the fact that. The handle is not glossy in person as shown in the picture, but it looks better in person because it already has somewhat of a worn look to it. The sheath is very high quality and the knife will not come out unless you want it to because the blade sort of clicks into place. The sheath leaves little pieces of material on the blade from pulling the knife out but that is towards where the blade ends and really isn't that big of a deal i just like clean looking knives. The sheath is made in mexico but that doesnt retract from the quality, you also have to run your belt through it. It feels solid and has some weight, just make it feel like its firm in your hand.

Best buck knife!!
I have been able to use the knife these last couple of days and by my experience it is the best knife for my use! (Tree service, Cattle work)I like the size of the knife and the knife came really sharp out of the box if you are thinking of purchasing this knife you should.

Great shape for deer hunting
This knife is great. The high hollow grind and the belly profile make it a wonderful skinning knife. The handle and the spine form a continuous downward curve, which I find very comfortable when removing backstraps from a deer. This knife paired up with my 110 make my favorite whitetail hunting combination. Good looking knife too, I like the brass and wood grip and the unique looking blade grind. Speaking of the grind, do not buy this knife thinking it will be your do-all knife for camping/bushcraft tasks. The spine is fairly thick, but the grind is very thin behind the edge. This blade was made to slice flesh, and it does it very well. But as far as heavy abuse I wouldn't risk it. If you are a hunter, I definitely recommend this one.

Buck Ranger - excellent choice
This Buck knife is nothing short of excellent. I've always had pocket knives - first one was a prince that my dad gave me when I was 9. This knife reminded me a lot of that one with the classic brass end and two bolts flush with the wood. I wanted a fixed blade knife for skinning to keep meat chunks, skin, and hair from getting wedged in the crease of my folding knives dad gave me from years' past. This one has a clean, classic look. The latest craze seems to be tactical knives - they're everywhere. And although those have a certain appeal, nothing beats a classic look that reminds me of deer hunts from way back when. Even better, this knife comes EXTREMELY sharp. Everyone always talks about a knife edge that can shave hair. Might could get a couple of hairs off the forearm to scrape off from a majority of knives straight out the package, but this one is RAZOR sharp. Suggest you quit looking, and buy this knife. Perfect length for everything necessary to cape any big game animal. Buy it, you'll be happy you did.

Fantastic little knife that doesn't break the bank.
Good looking classic knife. I'm not much of a Buck knife guy because I find that the fit and finish of their slipjoints is very sub-par, but after purchasing my latest Bark River Mini Fox River for $200+ and seeing that the quality of this latter knife was horrible...well, I decided to not be so hard on the Ranger Skinner 113.420HC is not A2, but this steel is really easy to sharpen and it does come sharp out of the box. The knife is pretty well built and symmetrical. Hard to beat at the price range, and this sub $50 knife beat out a $200+ knife that is going back to the vendor.
