Quality Screw Extractors
These extractors worked on a badly ceased hardened/tempered steel bolt on a motorcycle (metric 8.8 rating). If you pre drill and pound the extractor in deep enough the design of these extractors works very well. Notes: -A T-Handle is almost required for properly using these extractors, turning with a wrench is NOT ideal. -These are quality extractors but during the process of removing my first hardened bolt the extractor lost its cutting edge and deformed beyond usability. This extractor set might be better suited to industrial applications or very critical bolts as you may not get more than a few extractions per tool.

The gold standard in Exraction!
These tried and true Proto extractors may not look hi tech, but for years , have been the standard of tech's everywhere! I have used them after watching the ''old guard'' mechanics use them, and they have never failed me. Just finished yet another exhaust manafold job where broken bolts in head had to be removed. No problem after drilling out the center of the bolt and taping the exractor in, and with a small cresent working the bolt out. I think they are still made in USA as a bonus!

Didn't actually work
Maybe I didn't drill in far enough or heat the metal enough or lube it enough to extract the bolt. But they didn't get my bolt out for running boards on a tundra that had broken. Oddly the basic right hand turn ones(That work when they want to)and vice grips took the bolt out. I bought these because a diesel mechanic acquaintance of mines swears by them.

So easy, ANYONE can extract bolts!
I've tried using ez-outs,and never had any luck. These Protos are simple to use, and work! I'm a toolmaker, and sometimes bolts or set screws get broken,in dies, and they get sent to us,in the toolroom. Thankfully, these work. They save a lot of time and work.

Great for broken Spark plugs
Worked perfectly for my broken spark plug. I put some pressure on it for it to come free and it did not break. This is what you need not the round ones.

Best screw extractor made!
These square extractors work better than any others I've ever used. They remove the broken bolt without spreading and jamming it tighter into the threads. This often happens with the spiral style extractors. These are also less brittle and wont break as easily.

Absolute JUNK!
I bought these tools to remove some M6 bolts from a motorcycle because they were JIS heads and I do not have those tools. In doing so I have broken 3. I have not used excessive force hammering them in especially considering the small space I am working around. They simply splinter/snap off after you attach a wrench and twist to remove the bolt. JUNK!

Best easy outs
I've used snapon and I do recall them being good, matco, and cornwell suck. Proto easy outs have just always been good.
