best game for 2.5 yo
I figured it was time for my 2.5 yo to start playing games and bought a bunch for xmas (Ants in the Pants; Acorn Soup; Hi Ho! The Cherry-O; a matching game) but none are nearly as perfect as this. It was super easy for him to grasp, game play is not too fast and not too slow, it’s cooperative, easy to set up, and no small pieces (a plus for my 10 mo who’s always intervening). The 2.5 yo loves to play it with anyone that visits (and loves to explain it too). Kids with a longer attention span will want to play a handful of times in a row, and kids with a shorter attention spay will be fine playing once. This pieces are age appropriate, well made (wooden fruit!), and not chintzy. Also the ending of this game is clear-cut and satisfying. Really perfect for a toddler’s first game.

Fun, simple board game!
Simple game for learning to take turns, follow rules and win /loss. All players take turns and roll the dice to collect the fruit before the raven gets it. Quality wooden fruit.

Perfect for little ones with short attention spans
My 3-year-old usually can’t sit still for more than a few minutes, but she loved First Orchard! It was easy for her to understand, fun to play, and we actually played it twice in a row — that never happens! It’s a great first board game that teaches taking turns and working together without being too complicated. Highly recommend!

Best “first board game” for toddlers and fun for the whole family
My son absolutely loved this! The Easter bunny brought it to him. Super easy to follow and my son was able to set it up by himself after playing one time (he turned 3 in January). I highly recommend to anyone looking to introduce board games to their child. The pieces are extremely durable and made of wood (with the exception of the path and orchards). My son was able to pick up the object of the game very quickly and even taught my mother in law how to play it.

Excellent quality, must have for young toddlers
This is such a fun game for toddlers - a favorite of my 2 year old son. The materials are solid wood and study cardboard. The rules are simple enough for young children to understand and grasp the concept of taking turns and playing for a certain goal. The dice is big enough for small hands - because the corners are rounded, it rolls quite well, so we like to use the lid of the box to keep it contained. I've recommended this game to lots of toddler parents and they've all come back with high praise.

Very good for 2 year old. Worth the money
My son is 2 and he has never played a board game before. This was a great introduction! He understood the game after just a few minutes, we worked as a team, and tried to keep him from cheating. LolHe loved matching the fruit color to the color on the dice. He would roll, touch the dice color, grab the fruit with the matching color, and kinda clink them together before putting the fruit in the basket. He kept trying to get the dice to be the crow because he wanted to move the cute Lil guy forward. Lol. We kept having to move the crow to where he should be and encouraging him to roll the dice or put the right fruit in the basket. We made it through a game and a half... which is really good for a 2 year old. I definitely expect we will be playing this Lil game a lot.The pieces are great sizes, and really vibrant. They have a little weight to them too, so they are good at staying put. We played the game on the floor and so Lil man was running all around the game field with the dice, and it was nice that everything didn't scatter every time he Darrelle through to toss the dice or grab a piece.Great purchase.

GREAT first game
This is a very good and interesting first game for children. The fruit pieces are solid wood in bright colors, the directions are simple and the game is fun and pretty short. No reading or counting needed, but does teach color-matching and taking turns. My 5-year-old grandson played with his 2-year-old brother and they both wanted to play over and over.

Great turn taking and collaborative game
This game is a favorite of my two year-old! We initially got it for him for his second birthday, and by the time he was 2 1/2 he understood the aspect of turn taking and loved playing it with his grandma! We also love that it highlights working with the other players, not working against them. We appreciate that it focuses on collaboration. Highly recommend!
