Very good upgrade for the money
I don't think anybody would use these drop bar ends instead of good drop handlebars on a road bike, but if you find yourself using your mountain bike to ride on the road or gravel from time to time, there is no better solution than this! The installation takes about 5 minutes, and once installed, your handlebars will look and feel similar to compact drop handlebars on a road bike.

Beautiful and simple to install
I am using a retro MTB as an indoor trainer, and this was the peace that was missing to give me more positions to ride the bike.

Very good addition to flat bars
I used these to replace some similar ergonomic bars on my Brompton flat handlebars. They both have 40mm drops and are almost identical. These are slightly better for two reasons. The ergonomic form restricts hand placement and left me with nowhere good to put my hands. They were either so far forward my wrists touched the handlebars or so far back they were partly off the drops. The smooth curve on these drops is actually better for me.Also these are slightly flared so the drops are slightly wider than the handlebars and my wrists don't touch the ends of the handlebars. For those who don't know, these have a smooth curve whereas ergonomic bars have two straight sections with a tighter curve between them.

Love these bar-ends!
I added these to the mountain bike I converted to an e-bike. As a log-time road cyclist, I found the flat bars on my mountain bike cramped and lacking in options for hand positions. I was also experiencing numbness in my hands, despite the padded grips and gloves I was using. Adding these, with a pair of Upanbike brake levers (non-functional) and Profile padded bar wrap, has made the bike much more comfortable to ride. I have many more hand position choices and wrapping the padded flat bar grips has cured the numbness problem, at least on the relatively short rides I've done so far. I know the additional hand position options will go a long way to preventing numbness, even if the additional padding on the flat bar grips isn't 100% successful. I added the dummy brake levers because I've always been partial to riding with my hands 'on the hoods.' I found this setup to be very comfortable. I just have to remember that those brake levers won't stop the bike. Descending a hill in the drops, I had the urge to feather the 'brakes' going into a curve. I find the curve of these bars to be a little tight, but that's the only complaint I have.

very happy with this purchase. installed in minutes. the hardest part was getting the grips off my handlebars.

Pass on this. Get drop bars or just be happy with flats.
A bit of an nice outward flare, but overall shallow drop and not much reach (length coming towards you) render this pretty useless.
