If you want an authentic cap like the one you see worn by MLB players, this is the one to get. I searched all over to find the right one - including licensed replica brands like '47 - and I ended up with this. Why? Because it's the real thing In the stock photograph, it doesn't look like it, which is why I was hesitant - which is why I looked at a lot of other brands and designs. But all you need to do with this cap is to break it in and it'll look just like the players' hats. How do you break it in? Pretty simple: just bend the bill, repeatedly, and wear it for a while to get the crown to fit your head better. It'll look exactly like what the players wear on-field You can leave it as it is too, if you like this sort of 'boxy' look with the flat bill. But if not, this is still what you're probably looking for. Just break it in right. There are a few YouTube videos showing how people break in a 59fifty cap like this one, where they use hot water or a hair-dryer to shrink the inner mesh of the crown to make it 'lower'...but I found that all unnecessary, and it didn't really work right. Probably because the new caps are designed to retain their shape and not shrink. But you don't need to do all that anyway - just curve the bill by bending it with your hands, and do that every day for a few days, and keep wearing the cap. If the crown is high, keep pushing it in, and it'll slowly start to look just right. If not, the 59fifty is probably not the hat for you - try a 39thirty Another thing that I've seen people on Amazon complain about is getting the right size. I measured my head's diameter, then used a conversion chart to get my hat size, which is 7 3/8, and that's what I ordered, and that's what I got - and it fits perfectly. No issue whatsoever in this regard Yeah, I love this cap. Great quality, great price, classic look. I love it!

When I first read some of the reviews of the cap, especially about how a couple of buyers received their caps poorly packaged and smooshed, I was very skeptical about ordering it through Amazon. But... the pricing and 2-day delivery with Prime were just too good to resist. Why pay $35 at the local sporting goods or hat store when you can pay much less for the same authentic cap? My Dodger cap arrived in perfect condition. The box was perfectly sized. The inside was bubbled wrapped for extra protection. When I opened it up, much to my delight, it was PERFECT!!! as if I picked one up from the local mall. It was the newer polyester, authentic version, and exactly what the players wear in Chavez Ravine, Dodger Stadium. The newer version has nearly the same thick tough feel as the wool version (which I have at home as well from a decade ago), but it seems to fit better and not feel as tight on the head. I can see why Major League Baseball has switched over to the Cool Base version for the players these past couple of years. I totally love and prefer this version of the authentic cap. I had first purchased this New Era cap at "The Mall" as a Christmas present for my 14-year-old nephew. The people at the store "Lidz" were so rude, but with Christmas just around the corner, I felt that I had to buy it at the time. After some reflection on employee rudeness, what seemed like a ridiculously high price for the cap, and a membership club that they didn't tell me was NOT FREE (in fact, when I questioned the $5 membership charge on the receipt, the employee told me they were INSTRUCTED to avoid telling the customers!), I decided to check Amazon.com. Not only was the cap about $12 cheaper from Amazon (even after factoring in shipping ), but I felt a certain feeling of satisfaction knowing that I could inconvenience those rude employees by making them process a refund. I am also now getting a feeling of satisfaction from writing this review and trashing the store! Ha ha About the lateness (2 days) of the gift to my nephew: We had a good talk about customer service and rudeness and he totally understood. Besides, he wasn't going to wear the cap until spring anyway.

I ordered three of these hats for Christmas presents for my sons, and one for me. They are excellent quality, Made in USA as advertised. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I had to return the hats because the sizes were too big. I have a New Era wool fitted hat 7 1/8 that I was using for sizing the new hats. It fit one son perfectly, was slightly tight for me, and much too tight for my other son. I ordered a 7 1/8 , 7 1/4 and 7 3/8. The 7 1/8 was slightly loose on me, good for one sone, and too large for the other. 7 1/4 and 7 3/8 were way too large for any of us and had to be returned. The only thing I can think, is my wool hat may have shrunk some from when it was originally purchased. The other negative is that I got a great discount when originally ordered on Amazon, but on return, I didn't get the discount again, and had to pay full price on the new reordered hats.

I have been shopping for a NY Mets hat for a month, and after going to stores like Lids and Sports Authority and trying out the sizes, I came to Amazon to purchase this cap. This is the authentic cap that the Mets wear on the field. The brim is stiff and looks fresh right off the bat (no pun intended). It has a layer of sweat guard on the inside which helps absorb sweat and keep the salt from drying on the outside of the cap. This is a must-have for you Mets fans out there. I wear it proud, even though I'm in Cardinals country. I have received lots of positive comments when wearing the cap (with some Cubs and Cards fans talking some friendly smack). When I go on trips, it is a must-have item to pack. You never know when you want to protect your noggin from the cold, sun, wind, or just want to show off your Mets pride. Definitely a great investment...

How can you not love a well made, authentic Red Sox hat?! This hat is what the players wear and I love it. I have to say when I first got it I had to return it because it was too small, but the next size up was perfect. With Amazon's return policy I had my new hat in 2 days! The second one was a little snug but I kept it anyways. After 2 weeks of constant wear the hat stretched to perfectly fit my head, and is now my most comfortable hat. Excellent quality, and I get lots of "wear did you buy that from?" comments.

Tjos jat os extremely BO$$. I measured my head using a shoe string then meshing it up with a tape measurer , trying to utilize their sizing measurment system to the best of my ability, I think the 7 1/4 hat I received is SLIGHTLY larger than my head , but its not uncomfortable by any means. Not quite sure yet if the size is gonna be enough of an issue for me to return this for a slightly smaller size.... its not flexfit material but you know in the windy city you dont want your hat to blow away cuz its too big for smaller headed individuals , good thing it comes in so many different sizes. Also I would like to see the prouct color Red become an availible option, black on red...
