Description: CoreTect Tree and Shrub Tablets Insecticide is formulated to provide consistent delivery of active ingredient over time. Release of active ingredient is dependent on presence of adequate soil moisture. For best results, irrigate the plant after treatment, and ensure that the plant receives regular irrigation for at least 2-3 months after treatment. CoreTect is economical and easy to use. When treating established or newly planted trees and shrubs use 2-3 CoreTect tablets per inch of trunk diameter or per foot of shrub height. CoreTec will give a yearly protection against insects that would chew, suck or bite treated shrubs and trees. Product Features: 2.5-gram tablets with 20% active ingredient plus fertilizer Systemic action with same ingredient as Merit Slow release for extended insect control Active ingredient causes plants to better tolerate environmental stress such as heat, drought and poor soil conditions Great for newly planted trees and shrubs or on existing landscapes CoreTect Tree and Shrub Tablets Insecticide will control or significantly reduce populations of insects that attack containerized, newly-planted, and established trees. For trees and shrubs grown in landscapes and interior scapes for more than one year, CoreTect Tree and Shrub Tablets Insecticide will in some cases provide control of insects for up to two years. The tablet also has been shown to improve survival and growth rates of newly established seedlings, containerized trees and shrubs, and newly-planted and well-established ornamental plants.

Really reduced moth tip damage on pines
Pinus eldarica (Afghan pine, Mondell pine) is a windbreak tree of choice here in dry West Texas, but we also have a problem with moth larvae destroying tips on the seedlings. Image shows one tip with the damage --- break off the brown part, and a nasty wiggling larvae says hi back at you. If the lil' tree can make it to some degree of maturity, the moth problems aren't affecting them as badly. However, these less-than-one-year-old seedlings have very little foliage to spare. I was spending a small fortune on Sevin to keep the moths from destroying these babies, and then read that forestry teams were using CoreTect in some areas for this problem. I tried it, and while it did not 100% eliminate the damage on the next set of seedlings, it made a huge difference. I didn't lose any more seedlings to moth tip damage.

Serve it up to your hemlocks. Bad choice for a wooly adelgid garden party.
My hemlock trees love this stuff. They can't get enough. The little tiny evil stinky ugly foul-mouthed wooly adelgids do NOT like this stuff.

Coretect Tree & Tree and Shrub Tablets
Not much to say. When I use it, trees and shrubs look great. When I don't, trees and shrubs die. Should be used every 18 months. Don't waste your time attempting to contact the good folks who make this stuff (Bayer) if you have any questions about the product. Wikipedia contributors will provide helpful information. Handle with care. If you have kids or pets, make sure that all of the round "pellets" are in the container or in the ground as per instructions. Many "Tree Doctors" will charge several hundred dollars (over and above the product cost) for something you can do yourself.

Great Results
I have used this 2 years in a row now and my various in-ground palms,10 total, have never looked better! Including having more fond growth and extra stalk expansions.

Works!
I have paid "professionals" tons of money over the years to kill/control white scale on my privit to not avail. I've tried sprays out the Wazoo with nothing working. I used these tablets late last year and they cleared up the problem almost completely. Very satisfied.

No signs of slowing down beetles
Used the product as labled. Thought it would save a shade tree from the Japanese Beetles that attacked it for 2 years. Applied tablets in spring and 6 weeks later the Japanese Beetles have defoliated the entire tree.
