Moves a lot of air with a caveat
Pros- This fan is quite powerful and I use it every single day, I bought two and both have been going twenty-four seven without issues.- You can control each fan independently, the speed and the direction of air flow. You do not have to remove the fan from the window to change airflow direction- The ability to circulate air, having one fan drawing out hot air and the other pulling in fresh air, is a must feature that is the reason I bought this fan in the first place- It is relatively quiet, I have box fans as well and this is about half the noise level of one of my box fans- The expanding curtains on the side create a nice seal to keep out pests- Moves a lot of air, it cools down a fairly large room here in Florida where the heat and humidity are high- With both fans exhausting outside, it keeps smoke from coming inside through the windowCons- It didn't fit under one window when the window was lifted. I engineered a solution by using a curtain rod across the window opening that passes through the notch in the top of the fan to hold it into place. This places the fan on the inside of the window and I cut a piece of pool noodle to cover the gap at the top between the fan and window.- Sometimes if it is really hot, circulation mode is not powerful enough to overcome the heat, so it requires me to direct both fans to draw out the heat and I place a box fan in the room to create a cross draft. (Not the fault of the fan per say but a limitation)My thoughts are that this is an excellent window fan, for the price it does what I need it to do and does it without major problems. If your rooms get really hot like mine do, then you may need to supplement another type of fan, like a box fan, to get a good flow of air. Objectively this fan works and that is the important thing.

Quiet and efficient for ventilating my basement
I bought this fan to compare with a fan of another brand. This one actually is quieter. My previous window fan in the basement makes annoying vibrations which is noticeable in my bedroom at night. So, the Amazon basic window fan is a better choice, cheaper and quieter. It has two levels, Low and High. The switch itself may feel a little cheap but it works. Even at the low level, it ventilates pretty well, which saves some energy. The fan has more blades than other brands. Maybe that's how it makes less vibration noises. It has worked continuously for 1 year now. No problems at all.

Overall Good window fan with a few flaws
This review is for the version with digital buttons and temperature settings. This fan works well and the abilities to switch directions with a button and set a minimum temperature are great. Build quality is acceptable too.The downsides are:It's a bit pricey for a window fan. They all seem to be these days though. The extenders on the ends aren't strong enough to hold up the fan so you can only half extend it if you want to stand this fan on end for a horizontal sliding window. This doesn't work with any smart outlets or smart plugs. It forgets it's last setting every time the power is cut, so if you want any smart features it's actually better to get the cheaper ones with physical switches on it.The summary here is that I should have bought the cheaper one. It does all the same things and has physical switches so that one would work with a smart plug.

Moves Air, Fits in Windows. Accordion Sides Hold Position.
Works well. Accordion fold sides hold position. Moves air. High and low speeds work. Switch is accessible from either side of the fan which is nice. I'm using it as an exhaust fan in a smoking lounge. Keeps a 300 square foot room clear of smoke from a few cigar smokers. Works well enough.

Perfect window fan WITHOUT all the bells and whistles (and lights)
We have a 1925 one-and-a-half story cottage-style house with no air conditioning. Our Iowa nights can get really sticky, especially with the bedrooms right up against the roof line. I originally bought a pair of Bionaire Window Fan with Twin 8.5-Inch Reversible Airflow Blades and Remote Control - one for the front bedroom, one for the back bedroom. If you do a search for "best window fan" this one seems to be everyone's favorite pick. However, the buttons make a loud beep, you have to cycle through the buttons to change the speed of the fan and the direction of the fans. It's nice to see the temperature display but it's a bright red LCD. I only run the fans at night but I've already had to replace one of fan's fuses. Honestly, I wish I had found the Amazon Basics fan first. Fan speed is a standard off-high-med-low dial, fan reverses with a switch, and there's a built-in thermostat, but of the unmarked dial variety - all of which are SILENT! If I want to change the speed or direction of the fan in the middle of the night, I'm not going to wake up my husband with a bunch of beep-beep-beeps and I don't have a bright red light shining in my face. Otherwise, both fans have the same fan volume but the Amazon Basics comes with little swing out legs so I can take it out of the window and use it as a box fan PLUS it's lighter and less expensive. I also like the way the cord comes out of the fan - it's got a little notch to keep the cord from getting mashed against the window sill. I'm here to buy another two fans (so each bedroom has one) and then I'll put the Bonaire fans downstairs where the beeping and the lights won't matter so much. The more Amazon Basic products I buy, the more impressed I am with the price and quality.
