great
I am a lover of Bonnard's work and have read many books about this artist. Timothy Hyman's book is different from other books because it is a sensitive indepth analysis of Bonnards work from an artists point of view.

This book is not worth £18. The book is small, the paper inferior and there is not one colour plate in the whole book bar the front cover. The writing dated and incoherent.

Absolutely the best book on Bonnard. It is devoid of all that ego inflating art speak found in so many of these books. Well researched and one of the few authors to link Pierre Bonnard's life experience, philosophical influences and peers to the evolution of his paintings. Will be rereading this again and again. Wish it had full color images however!

Excellent exploration of Bonnard and his work. Expands the conventional view of his work as encompassing only 'domestic interiors' to include a much wider range of subject material and deeper vision.

So disappointed. This is a scam. This isn’t the real book. It’s a cheap knock off. It has been printed on cheap black & white paper. The 50 colour illustrations the author put in the original publication are non existent. Bonnard would be devastated.

There are no colour images … only black and white and very poor quality. The book is useless we need to study his colour and paint application .

The cover of this book says it has 169 illustrations, 50 in color. Only the front cover is in color. everything else is black and white.
