PVC4 Radon Mitigation Fan MODEL

Q: How loud is this fan?

Its basically a 4" box fan adapted to a PVC pipe. Its not bad. The PVC keeps it from echoing through the house, unlike metal. I have it running in my basement and I need to be within 25ft to hear it running.

Q: Can this fan retrofit to existing radon system with exterior fan motor and pvc up the side of the side of house?

If i get the question correctly, it is 'can this fan be inserted into an existing active radon system': it surely can be inserted into any pvc system and it does want to direct the flow outside, I don't know if a vertical pipe outside is the best way. I don't know if there would be any reduction in effectiveness by pushing air upward against gravity. I used it to augment a passive system horizontally thru the wall and it reduced readings by half. I don't know what the effect would be on an active system (i.e. one that has another fan in it).

This is just a fan which need to be installed on standard 4-inch pipe in either direction for getting air in or out. I have it for 5 years, working great. Turning on when need to get hot air from outside into the basement, or in other direction when need to get rid of moisture or paint smell when doing some projects.

Q: Where can I buy the hood that’s pictured?

If you mean the picture at right, there is no separate hood. I just mounted this in the exhaust hole thru the wall.
