There's really only so much that you can say. It's reasonably sturdy, and the eating platform itself is surrounded by a 1" deep rim to help keep food and drink from sliding off. And that's about it. No bells or whistles. Just some cheap "wood" glued and screwed together. I will say that there's absolutely no way that this thing is worth north of $40. But that seems to be the going rate for a tray this size, so in that context I can't imagine that you'll find one that's exceptionally better in that price range. Just be prepared to ask "Is that it?" when you get it opened and set up.

I bought this for eating on the couch cause I have no dining table in my apartment. It looks just like the picture and it works great either with the legs open or just as a flat tray on your lap. The legs are very well connected and sturdy and take some force to pull them out.

Much smaller than I expected. Pictures look like you can put so many items on it. I was going to send it back but ended up giving it to my great nephew to use. He is 5 and loves it to draw on. Rather than go through the hassle of sending it back I just gifted it.
