I was kind of disappointed in the size at first but then when I used the gel, I realized I actually didn’t need much. A little amount worked and once the gel cast was dry, I scrunched up my curls and they looked amazing. Honestly very happy and surprised with this product. I have type 2C/3A curls. I haven’t tried it on my daughters who have 3B/3C but I’ll update when I do.

I have fine hair, and it’s long (almost down to my waist), so I needed a product that wasn’t too heavy. After doing much research I found this company and fell in love with their company values and non-toxic ingredients. After trying it once, I’m already in love with this product!It’s so simple to use. I applied a little more than the recommended quarter size amount because of my long hair. I barely had to do any work to get my hair to curl beautifully. I thought I only had beach waves, but just a little scrunch and air dry naturally, I got these beautiful tight curls! And it smells good too.

I initially tried this product because this company’s mission appeals to me and I wanted to support a local business. But I also have coarse, porous, and dry curly hair. I shampoo’s and conditioned like normal and left my hair a little more than damp. I put a generous amount of product through my hair. I noticed it had a light and pleasing smell. I then fingered some curls, then dried my hair with a diffuser until damp. It created a lovely cast of my curls without being “crunchy” or dry feeling. AND, the cast lasted for four days! That’s a miracle for me! I will continue to use this lovely product to see how it works over time and repeated uses. Either way, just this one product is more affordable than the multiple other products I had been using. So far, it’s a win-win.

I was expecting more of a curling cream, it is actually a light gel. The gel works and holds curls together.

This is the best hair gel I've found so far for my waves. I like tight waves and this gives me the look I want and helps with the frizz. Also feels light weight, not too stiff or sticky.

I loved the old formulation that smelled like coconut and was natural ingredients. It was also more creamy. This new version has a more chemical smell and is a gel. It does get a little stiff where the old version didn't. It does an okay job as a gel, but I wanted the old product which tamed the frizz.

I tried several brands but I'm on the holistic side. So finding a product with ingredients I approved was challenging but this gel does it. It's not as strong as others but it does the trick and keeps my daughters curls from frizzing at the end of the day.

The consistency and ingredients and reviews were promising, but this stuff is not good for my hair. That said, i have fine, curly 3a-b hair that is growing out chemical dye. I have tried putting moisturizing products underneath this to offset, another alaffia product Define Tight Curls, guess it's a curling cream, or other stuff like that, and nope, my hair will look good for awhile but the next day it is dry and messed up, and gets fairy knots. The alafia define on the other hands works great, though it makes my curls diameter smaller, but at least they stay and feel healther, soft and shiney. Don't recommend especially if you have dry or damaged hair.
