They are solid clips, one issue was that some had poor plating over a base metal, so I expect some chipping to occur with continued use. I have others that didn't chip but eventually wore as well to expose a copper base metal, these too early to tell what was used but it seems other than copper. Functionally they serve their intended purpose with good clips, visually not a polished in the plating, some were perfect, others had visible chipping (4/10 units).

I purchased these as locks for our pup's exercise pen - to replace the plastic ones that came with the pen. When pup is old enough to be left alone in the house, we'll use these as key rings.
