Used this USB port to transfer file from a old SATA ssd to my new MacBook, got no problem with that. I was also able to connect my wireless keyboard and mouse to my MacBook.

The product was working well but then came to remove it from my laptop and the connection remained in the laptop. Mega frustrating as i use it on a consistent basis

It just works on both formats.I actually thought that I had found an alternative way to charge my XPS 15 via the Macbook charger, but it turns out that the 67W Macbook charger doesn't meet the 130W Dell requirement. You'd have to buy a new Dell usb-c charger to work with this (£60) or the wildly expensive Dell to USB-c charger adapter (£30).Even with the 67W charger however, the device gets very hot - maybe not enough to fry an egg but you certainly wouldn't want it touching your skin for too long. Thankfully, seeing as this is for desktop arrangements, that's not really an issue.

bought this to use on my google chromecast with android tv to have more expansion options sorry to say that it doesnt work it keeps powering on and powering off my chromecast with android tv ive had to send this item back and go for anker instead

I use this for both my laptop and Ipad pro its a great piece of kit and is just as reliable as a desktop accessory as it is as a "stick it in your pocket" and go tool
