Does it take batteries? If so what size batteries.

No batteries. All spring action. Takes a little while to get the right touch, but then works great.

Does it make sounds, and does it have lights?

No lights or sounds. My 3.5 yo grandson enjoys it but cannot operate the can by himself. It’s too hard to pull the can down and lock into place. Would not recommend it for a young child..

Not sure,probably China, but good quality!
