Very good product and an only 2-day delivery from Japan!!
Two day delivery from Japan! Ordered this on Friday and was delivered to NY on Monday!Incredible! Very happy with this product- good build quality. still have to figure out its feature, but very happy. After using it for a week or so, I have to add that it has very short battery life- barely enough for a weekend with moderate use. forget about 40+ hours that other brands offer. So i have to remove one star. if you plan to take it with you on a trip with limited access to electric power, look for another music player.

Best player for the money, good battery life, powers my Bose and Sennheiser headphones no problem
Before I bought this I bought the Hifiman for about the same price. The Hifiman constantly crashed the display and numerous other problems so returned it. This Pioneer is completely different in design and function. I have not had a single problem with anything since I took it out of the box. I need the storage capability and worked right off the bat with 200 gig and 128 cards inserted. I am buying another 200 gig due to having run out of space. I only have FLAC HD files and now have DSD music files which maybe averages over 3 gig per album. I also have lots of videos and youtube download files as well as other apps and files for the Android system. The audio is superb and I have a Sennheiser and Bose headphone and both have superior sound compared to anything else I've owned including Hifiman with music card. This is considered a low cost HD player in my opinion but didn't want to spend a thousand or thousands more as use it mainly for traveling on plane long distances. Although this contains just one DAC the sound, separation and noise floor is excellent. There is only one output op amp which carries the sound very efficiently that the 75 mw is adequate to drive my headphones with plenty of volume. I was afraid the 75mw would be to weak to drive my headphones but no complaints. I only listen to classical music so I need to hear the subtle differences and dynamic ranges of all kinds of instruments as well as voice. This player brings out all the sound details and dynamic ranges of complex classical music. When I plug this into a PC the 2 SD cards as well as the built in memory shows up all the time and can transfer files easily but I usually take the card out and put it in the PC directly. The HD music files transfer fairly fast but DSD files are big and much bigger than HD FLAC files so just remember you still got to wait longer than you would if you were transferring MP3. You don't want to play MP3 with this however but if you do the sound will be better. I just don't have the room on the SD cards to put all my MP3 files on there as well as all the FLAC, DSD, and even ALAC (Apple) files in there. I like the handle bumper at top also because I carry this in my shirt pocket on the plane and I'm constantly taking it out changing the music etc. and also while it is in my shirt pocket the volume is easy to adjust with the knob that near the top side so I don't have to take it out of my pocket to adjust the volume. Not all Android apps will play DSD files and the player it comes with plays everything but the user interface is not that great. I did sign up for the Onkyo music but those files are not identified as type but seem like they are mp3 or lower resolution files. The wifi works perfectly and the Google play store has everything it supposed to have. The device doesn't have a camera and gps though and also doesn't have NFC or FM radio. The display is bright and sharp, sharp enough to play my movies and look at jpg pictures. The built in 32 gig should be used for the Android apps only because the HD music files will take up to much space and fill it up in no time. 400 gig of storage should be enough for most people but hardly enough for me although I will have one SD card just for movies and I can swap the card out when I travel long distances. The device also supports DSD 128 which most at this price range including HIfiman doesn't support. The battery lasts about 11 hours with even some video clips. Also it has built in speaker which is good enough to listen to in a quiet room but doesn't get that loud but good for testing your music out. I used to have an extensive vinyl record collection and hated to get rid of it but I didn't have room for it anymore. Now I believe HD music is the future as vinyl is to expensive and takes up to much space even though it is making a come back of sorts. But people living in smaller places now and room is a premium so small systems that play HD files is what is needed. This streams with blue tooth which also works perfectly so you can have room filling music if you want. You can also stream wifi music from internet of course. Also has Android 5.1.1 which is more up to date than most others out there. For the price you get excellent sound, lots of memory space, and features that none other can match.

Sound is not much better than Samsung S3 mini
Sound is not much better than Samsung S3 mini. In fact: You need only right headphone for a player. I use Sony MDR-V6 and Samsung S3 mini. After a year and half headphone output is dead, only speaker works.Player is too complicated, too much about nothing. There is delay in volume button and volume is not too loud.I do not recommend it.If you do not like sound of any player probably you have to chose right headphone for the player.

The Sound. It's All About the Sound!
This item solved a problem. I had an area in my home where I couldn't get the sound I wanted. The Pioneer XDP-100R is the only player that sounds amazing in this location. This player has lots of adjustments to the sound. All kinds of adjustments not on any of my other players. It is sleek and well built. One of only two players I have rated 5 stars. The screen artwork is awesome. The build quality is amazing. It is beautiful to look at. The Bluetooth works fine for me, but this player is far too sophisticated for me to waste on Bluetooth. It sounds so good, I can't stop listening once I start. I guess this replaces my Pioneer RT-909.Amazing sound. If you want, it is an I-phone without the phone. I exclusively use it for the enjoyment of music in a home audio, wired full high fidelity stereo. I think they actually got it right the first time. Thank you for designing and manufacturing this fine product. Figures. I have always been a big fan of Pioneer. (even though it's Onkyo). This update on 07/01/2019: I continue to use the XDP100R and I am using it in Bluetooth mode through a stereo amp and speakers. The XDP100R continues to provide excellent sound and service, even compared to my "last, best sounding" player, the Shanling M5s. There is much to be learned about this player. It has lots and lots of adjustments. It requires great patience with the custom equalizer. There are so many ways to adjust the equalizer and it makes a big difference in the way this player sounds, especially when compared to more current players. The XDP100R still competes well with my best sounding players, plus, this player also serves as a tablet. I continue to really like this dap. It grows on me with time.

Great Player!
This is an incredible player and the price point was perfect. Since I purchased and imported the Japanese market version, the only issue I ran into was the Japanese channel restrictions for 5ghz wireless that the US doesn't have. I had to use a lower channel on my home network router in order to utilize 5ghz wireless. No big deal, but worth mentioning in case others experience problems. The sound quality is great and compares favorably to my Oppo HA-2 DAC. I have been using the following headphones with the XDP-100R: Oppo PM-3, Westone UM3X, Etymotic ER4PT, and Bose QC25. All sound great with this DAP and I am happy with my purchase.

Is a garbage in seven months elapsed after the purchase
Is a garbage in seven months elapsed after the purchase, only use it as 100 hours, stops working, does not start, does not register load and the seller says that it is out of warranty, lost total.

I have been a music fan since 70-es. Always ...
I have been a music fan since 70-es. Always had HiFi audio systems. This player - is a top-notch product. Starting from the prompt delivery and the box/packaging (which tells a lot). Then the quality of sound and the fair price (from this vendor. Compare with $700 from other retailers). And since this player is powered by Android - you can listen to ANY music formats (Microsoft, Apple, whatever...), as you can simply get the according player-app - and you are open to listen the whole world of music formats.
