From the brand Manning is a publisher of computer books, videos and projects for software developers, engineers, architects, system administrators, managers and all who are professionally involved with the computer business. We also publish for students and young programmers, including occasionally for children. How we get our start? We published our first book in 1993 and have been learning from our successes, and even more from our mistakes, ever since. Every new book teaches us something that helps us improve. What makes our products unique? "Independent" means we are not owned by a large corporate entity and are free to make our own decisions. This has allowed us to innovate and be flexible and to quickly adjust what we do as we go. What do we publish? We publish standalone titles as well as a number of book series. How we get our start? Review: Too many typos - Serrano provides excellent material on his channel on ML topics. His wizardry in book form has to be compelling surely? Indeed, the author explains things clearly but...there is a but...the book has a number of distracting errors. Typos like 'Over!itting' are trivial, but variable subscripts are all over the place sometimes. The regularization chapter has a few oddities in that area (e.g. '2**2 = 2'). I'm about half way through but finding some of the inconsistencies a bit tiresome. Nothing but compliments to Serrano's authoring skills and ability to communicate. I do wonder if there were problems in production as the proof reading leaves something to be desired. The book is pitched at the reasonably serious money end of the spectrum. It's worth if you want a clear explanation of ML concepts. The lack of diligence on the final quality of the book is a bit of a disappointment. Review: Excellent book to enhance your understanding of useful programming algorithms without going crazy from the math

Book is written in a clear way. Easy to read. Highly recommended for anyone intersted in machine learning, Especially novice.

Just another paperback that looks like it rolled off a laser printer running in eco mode with the "replace toner" light flashing.

Disappointing that the book concentrates on a Python library that will not work on Python 3.9 or later. The turicreate package is only valid with Python up to 3.8. Of 410 pages, turicreate is mentioned up to page 171 and scikit learn only starts at 265. The information looks good based on first two chapters but if you're looking for scikit learn this is not the book.
