HON Double Front-to-Back Hanging File Rails, 2 per Carton (H919492)

This was exactly what I was searching for. Heavy gauge steel, well constructed, the exact size I needed. It fit my file drawer like a glove.My only complaint was with the packaging. These guides were shipped in a mailing tube, but without end caps or plugs to protect the ends. So, naturally, the 'ears' at the ends of the rails were bent in transit. It wasn't a big deal to bend them back with pliers.

I love these file rails. They make any filing cabinet able to hold letter as well as legal files. I split my cabinets in half with them and that works great!

Cross rails do just what they say. You need to have files on both sides of the rails or they tend to tip and need to be tipped back. I have not had any files fall off ... but they might.They work but are a bit pricey it seems.

These are just what we needed to organize our file drawers.

I bought these (two sets) so I could set up front to back filing in a used 42" Hon two-drawer lateral file cabinet. Yes, they are expensive for essentially pieces of metal, but much easier and nicer than trying to make something. And in the 42" cabinet, it's perfect for three rows of front to back filing without any wasted space.

These HON cross wells work great, but I was disappointed that for such expensive products HON does not provide them with the file cabinets when you buy them.

Amazing how two small lengths of metal have reformed my entire filing system! Brilliant idea, so brilliant that I'm ordering another pair.
