Solo Leveling, Vol. 1 (comic) (Volume 1) (Solo Leveling (comic), 1)

I love this series. I like the book, but I LOVE the manhwa. The artist: Jang Sung-Rak (Dubu), gets credit for the depth of my love for the series. Dubu, CEO of Redice studio, passed away shortly after completing the main story art/adaption of Solo Leveling (Chapter 179/manhwa print vol 1-13) Solo Leveling was his only credited work but he set the standard for his studio )and I believe elevated the standard for webcomics in general). The art is so phenomenal, If you get the chance, scroll through the original webcomic. the novel adaption format vs webcomic cut is like watching a movie with a different director. same movie, but the impact is a little different. and she of the action flows better scrolling that having it all on the page.

The book was amazing. The drawings were pretty good a 10 out of 10 book for sure. The only problem was that do with some slight creases in some of the pages but besides that it was perfect.

Really good tv series, and comic is great too. I think I'll buy the novel too. It's rare to find an Anima series I've enjoyed as much.

I read this manga on recommendation by a co-worker. Initially, it was nice seeing it was a full-color manga; that gave it a nice feel, and the artwork seems to have been taken seriously. There are some points where it looks like a computer was used for some of the graphics, but it may be that the artist used a program to do their work on. As a personal preference, I like seeing hand-drawn art. The dialog/narration of the story was a bit annoying as the situation seemed fairly common, and the explanations felt like they droned on a little too long. Another detractor was that the main character recognizes the situation he’s in, but still acts surprised, and hesitates to accept his reality. I get a little surprise because the situation is new, but this character’s foot-dragging goes on a little too long. The characters are somewhat bland and the use of side characters doesn’t feel like it elevates the story much because they kind of just come and go in this issue. I don’t really care about the main character because the reason he gives for what he does isn’t clearly placed before the reader; rather, it is talked about, so by the end of the book, the reader might believe the main character’s lying. Also, when the main character meets another character sho should know about his situation, they don’t talk about his reason for dungeon diving. I didn’t feel connected to the main character partly because of that. Not a lot happens in the first issue: character intro, dungeon crawl, character drag (character getting dragged into what will drive the story forward), but it still piqued my interest to see what will happen next. Mild recommendation to read for the artwork and story progression.

This series of Manhwa is fantastic! All 13 are for sure worth it. If anyone knows anything better let me know because this made me buy the book(all in one book)with them all included.

Kid loves it. It was cheaper than Kinokuniya here. Cannot wait for volume 3!
