Flimsy but good to see where everything is stored and nice to see the Singer name
First the bad points. It is flimsy. Mine arrived with a crack in the lid at the handle. The plastic drawers stick and it takes both hands to ease the drawers out and slide them back in. The catch that secures the locking bar in place is wobbly. The threads and other bits and pieces that come with the sewing case are bargain store basics, for example the threads are rough spun so will catch and snap if used on a sewing machine (ok for careful hand sewing though). Good points? It's nice to have the Singer name and a place to store sewing items in clear drawers so I can see where everything is. I can gradually replace the threads with reels of better quality threads in more useable colours. It is wipe clean, will store lots of small items efficiently, and when opened up to display the contents when I am sewing will look smart and organised. Its flimsy but I can carry it around the house by supporting it underneath. Oh and the small tomato shaped pincushion has an even smaller strawberry shaped pin sharpener attached, which you don't always see.For me the trickiest part was the locking bar attached to the lid. Unlike the locking bar on the Singer Sew it Goes Stackable Storage Case (Amazon.com) which folds back to rest on the top, with this version to access the drawers you need to have the locking bar hanging down the front or the back of the case, taking up space, and putting strain on the lid's plastic hinges. After much thought I decided to carefully ease out each side of the locking bar from the lid (by holding the lid open and supporting it where the prongs of the locking bar go through, and from the outside, gently pushing the 'prongs' back through the hole on each side). Once the locking bar was off I used a nail file to smooth down the tips of the plastic 'prongs' so the locking bar now slides in and out of the lid easily. Now I can lift up the lid, ease off the locking bar, lay that to one side, and access the drawers. When I have finished sewing I can open the lid, slide the locking bar back in place and close up the sewing case.I hope Singer decide to remake this popular design in stronger materials, I like it but at the moment it seems expensive for what it is, and it is flimsy. It goes well with my much more practical, stronger and similar sized white and clear plastic carry box 405378 from B&M which was a fraction of the price - but doesn't have the Singer name lol!

Item arrived damaged
The item was damaged and the casing seemed cheap quality. When I went to put in a return and repurchase, the price had increased to a cost that cannot be justified. Don't purchase this kit. It will be a disappointment.
