GERBS Araya Dried Dates, 64 ounce Bag, Unsulfured, Preservative, Top 14 Food Allergy Free

Ordered this for the 3rd time. The first time we got this, it was amazing. The flavor was fresh and aromatic and tasted like bananas. The second time we ordered this, it tasted flat and not like bananas but just coconut oil. We were really bummed out about it because we were looking forward to it being like the first batch we got. Which is why we reordered! I decided to give this item one more try and it came in today. Opened the bag up and smelled nothing like bananas.... The taste was just like the second one. Just coconut oil. Really sad about this purchase and the reason why I gave it another shot because it's hard to find banana chips without so many additives. I ate 5 pieces and none of them had the taste of bananas. Really sad... The first package really got us. I feel like we got baited and switched for some subpar old inventory bag.

It would have gotten maybe a 4 if it had not been for me finding a hair in the bag. I was ordering another brand off of Amazon, but they didn't have prime this time around and so I decided to try out Gerbs. I wasn't extremely happy when it arrived because the bag it came in was a bit dirty and it just seemed like a low budget product, but I was used to the other brand I was ordering, the packaging was great and the product. After I tasted them they were very good. I transferred them into a regular ziploc bag, because I still didn't like the dirty bag and all was well, until a few days into eating them, there was a short hair that I found, and that really turned me off. I could have possibly said it belonged to me but I have curly hair and not straight. So unfortunately, I don't think I will purchase again. They are good though.

These have literally no flavor. It's like eating cardboard. I was so excited to use these in muesli and snacks, but we ended up throwing them out. Seriously, no flavor at all. Bummed. p

I have purchased from GERBS several times before and have not had issues but my latest delivery of currents, banana chips, goji berries, sunflower, and pumpkin seeds tasted off, musty and STRANGELY THE BERRIES AND SEEDS ALL HAD THE SAME CARDBOARD TASTE. The outside of the package label/ nutrition facts are sloppy blurred / ink smudged. You can only read the name of the company. All of my bags look like they’ve been sitting in a hot storage room and the berries are smeared to the side of the package. I bought 2 pound bags and now I’m either using the fruit seeds in baked goods to hide the cardboard taste or sharing with my dogs (not currant). This is upsetting considering I bought 2 pd bags for my family now wasted. My cherries should be here next week and I’m sure I’ll receive the same old dull musty taste. These are gross and I’m disgusted of the quality and money wasted for my family. I’m disappointed, my money is wasted on 5 bags and I can’t return this garbage.

Okay so I got a bad batch, it happens, I understand but these were black ringed and looked like mold but at the time of processing not after the fact. The package was okay, not leaking air or anything..the fruit itself was bad when dried..so..that really bothered me.

THESE ARE NOT BLACK CURRANTS. I always bought black currants every winter until 5 yrs ago to make a personal unique cookies recipe for the holidays every year. I thought these were real black currants in my hurry. I just tasted them after receiving the package today. These are NOT BLACK CURRANTS which have a different flavor. These are too sweet and are definitely ordinary zante raisins and I will now have to cancel my cookies this year. Black currants have a different texture and are slightly smaller and definitely black. These are reddish black. I SHOULD HAVE PAID ATTENTION AND READ WORD ZANTE AFTER TYPING IN BLACK CURRANTS. NOW I FEEL STUPID AND TAKEN, AMAZON. PLEASE... HAVE CORRECT DESCRIPTIONS because I love Amazon for hurried orders but now have to take a pause and double check everything

I received this product August 1st via Amazon Prime. The packaging was intact and the plastic bag holding the banana chips was well sealed. When the bag was opened, there was an immediate rank garbage type odor. The banana chips are not fit for human consumption. My dog would not go near the open bag and he's not fussy about what he scavenges. ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK. I would rate this a zero if it were possible. I had to throw the bag right into the garbage can.I do have to say that I tried to return the banana chips and the website would not allow a return on a food item. BEWARE!! I called Amazon thru their callback feature and the representative was very understanding. I did receive a refund from Amazon after this call.As far as value, Aldi has banana chips for about half the price per pound.

Yes, these are NOT your perfect plump yellow sugar coated plastic looking sweetened pineapple candy chunks you typically find. Rather, these are the real thing, real pineapple that has been dried, but not too much, without any sweeteners added. They are chewy but soft enough to be enjoyable, and the flavor is what one would expect from real natural fruit.

Being unsweetened is very good but the chips definitely lack crunch and flavor. In fact, some of them are so hard but the inside feels a bit mushy and I could feel oil oozing out of the them. Definitely not a healthy choice. Baked or dehydrated chips would probably be better. It’s also expensive in my opinion. I wish there was a smaller package I could have purchased for trial. Definitely wasted money here.

GREAT BUY!! you can tell these are un sweetened but their still a great way to enjoy banana chips- actually better because there is none of that unhealthy sugarcane/ there guaranteed natural! these came on time, they are a good cost, you certainly get lots of them.. you want a healthier ulternative to those sugar coated banana chips!?- try these ones.-you wont be disappointed...

You would think that unsweetened wouldn’t be that bad they are bananas but no they did not taste good at all. It’s like the sweetness that bananas have was stolen from these. :(

Taste fresh! Tho as they are unsweetened they do taste pretty plain, a little stevia and sea salt will do the trick ;)
