Sturdy
Required a little adjustment to get the top plate mounting arms flat. Nothing a vise and crescent wrench couldn't fix. Everything fit fine and lined up otherwise.Needs a few washers though as the nuts were almost able to pass through the mounting bracket. Seems heavy duty, time will tell. Great value for the money compared to higher priced ones.

Doesn't fit a 2020 CB500X
This tail rack is said to fit a 2020 CB500X. It does not. The seat cannot be put back on because the combined height of the rack's support bars and the motorcycle's grabrail support is too thick to allow the seat lock to engage. Perhaps it was intended to be used without the grabrails but, firstly, that would be a foolish design, and secondly, if that's the case, it should say so on the page.Another issue. At the top of the page, in one of the images, it says "It is simple to install! If there are any installation problems, please feel free to email us". But way down at the bottom of the page, it says there are no instructions, and we should ask a mechanic to install it! Also, what email address? There is none provided. I hate this kind of shoddy service that seems to be more and more common these days.

Fit my 2023 CB500X with no mods, a bit out of alignment, Givi top case installed and is straight.
Bought this because the Givi rear rack has been sold out. I got a Givi Alaska top case and mount to sit on top of this rack (not installed yet, hasn't arrived), I'll try to come back for a follow up review once I mount the top case. You've probably read other reviews and installs of this rack, there are no instructions, but it fit my '23 with no modifications. The reviews that indicate the angles are not quite right are correct, you have to install this like you are following IKEA furniture instructions (DO NOT TIGHTEN UNTIL IT'S FULLY MOUNTED!) Follow the below instructions which outline how I installed it. It did take about an hour of fumbling around trying to figure everything out but if you follow the below instructions it should take about 30 minutes.1) Remove seat.2) Remove all bolts and screws from the handles EXCEPT the front two, loosen these two until almost free.3) Assemble the rack, look at the other review pictures of where the mounting holes are, thread the nylon nuts onto the mounting bolts until they just hold themselves in. Install the loosely assembled rack to the bike from the rear. The mounting holes go under the handle while the rear of the loosely assembled rack stays over the top of the rear of the handles. This is kind of hard to explain, basically just get it in there, the front bolt will help keep the handles on the bike so you can shimmy the rack into place.4) Use the 4 longest bolts from the kit add begin to tighten each one while also moving the rear rack around to get it to settle in place. You should be able to tighten all 4 bolts down with no space left between the brackets and the mounting holes. This is your last chance to ensure the rear rack is straight to the bike, I found I had no play available to shimmy the rear rack to get it straight, mine is probably 1/8th inch off center. Add a bit of torque to ensure all 4 are tight.5) Tighten the front bolts on each handle. You will not need the small plastic screws.6) Using a small wrench and Allen key securely tighten the 4 small bolts with the nylon nuts that secured the rear rack to side mounts.7) Install seat.EDIT, after installing the Givi Alaska top case:While I was able to install the rack with no mods I did have to perform mods to get the top case to fit.First off I did not trust the 4 wimpy flat head machine screws that came with the kit, upgraded to 18's, but did have to drill bigger holes. There is no recess for the machine screws so they now stick up more than the delivered ones. Only the front two interfered with the Givi mount, a simple light sanding with my dremel fixed that.Thr two rear mounting holes on the Givi mount aligned with existing holes in the rack (I did have to drill them slightly bigger). I had to drill new holes for the front mounting holes.Overall was this a hack job? Yes. I had no other choice because the Givi rack was sold out, even overseas. Regrets? No, the Givi mount only had to be trimmed very slightly and can still be mounted on a Givi rack should I be able to find one in the future.

Will need to make your own shims and run to the hardware store
So to start off, this product for what you pay is fantastic but it's not without some drawbacks. You'll be able to see in one of my pictures when you tighten down the mounting brackets, the part where it's supposed to mount to the plate is not flat like it should be. Luckily that wasn't that big of an issue as I thought it was going to be, you'll just need to install the mounting brackets on loosely then tighten down the plate first and it'll come into line. Now as to the hardware that comes with it, you might as well throw it into the trash and run down to your local hardware store because some of the bolts are too long to work in your bike. However, you're still plenty ahead in cost compared to other mounts like what you'd find in GIVI brand equipment. Even with all the minor inconveniences, I'd still but this thing again, it's plenty sturdy for all that you'd ever need it for and it's cheap enough that you won't mind getting it all dinged up. Just keep in mind that you will have to improvise some shims to raise the mounts up because the mounting brackets will damage the plastic on your bike if you don't.Update:I later decided that I wanted to add some saddlebags and come to find out, this tail rack has pre drilled holes that will fit the GIVI 1121FZ hardware kit. I left a picture to show what it looks like with this product, GIVI PL1121CAM kit, and GIVI 1121FZ. Certainly beats forking out $160 for a GIVI brand tail rack. Hope this helps!

Does not fit the 2016 cb500x.
This does not fit the 2016 cb500x. I had to cut the plastic below the mounts and add spacers to the front bolts to compensate for the height difference. You will also need to grind down the lip on the passenger handlebars to compensate for the rise in order to close the seat. I use this for adventure riding and it is no stranger to scratches and such. However, be aware that this DOES NOT fit the 2016 CB500X without major modification. Also, the hook mount holes at the end of the plate are not threaded, so you cannot attach that part. Just FYI. It was cheap and will serve its purpose, but I recommend modifying the description to remove the 2016 CB500X model for fitment.
