Dorman 800-082 Fuel Line Quick Connector That Adapts 3/8 in. Steel to 3/8 in. Nylon Tubing, 2 Pack Universal Fit

These connectors work great, but getting the nylon fuel line fully attached can take a lot of work. Lot's of YT videos on how to heat the nylon fuel line to attach to the fuel line fitting using a heat gun, but be careful not to get the heat TOO hot or the nylon line will bubble, around 400 degrees is about right. Move the heat gun around the entire diameter of the tubing. As soon as it's pliable enough, force the tubing onto the Dorman fuel line fitting. Maybe place the connector against a hard surface such as a table first. If it doesn't go past the 3rd rib on the connector, heat it up some more, keep it going on as straight as possible, and be patient. I replaced a fuel pump on a 98 Ford Explorer, and this Dorman fuel line connector ended up getting the job done, and the best part, NO LEAKS!!!

Was hesitant to purchase this to repair a rotten fuel line on my plow truck, couldn't get 100% confirmation that it would fit the fuel rail quick disconnect on my 5.3 engine in my 2005 sierra. After purchasing this, 25ft of dorman nylon fuel line, and a couple of nylon to nylon unions I made a new fuel line to splice into the existing nylon fuel line coming off of my fuel tank. This quick connect fitting worked perfect to attach my new fuel line to the fuel rail on my engine, and I'm told this should also fit onto the quick disconnect tube at the fuel tank sending unit as well. I also purchase this same style of fitting but in a 90° configuration but it should work just the same.

This is Dorman 800-082 which I used to connect to my Fuel Cooler on GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax 2004.5 LLY. Used with 6AN 3/8" Fuel Line Hose, 10FT Stainless Steel Nylon Braided Fuel Hose for Gas/Oil (3/8" 6AN) by Poweka and Glarks 12Pack 12-14mm Stainless Steel Mini Fuel Injection Hose Clamps. Fastened on to my steel lines using Dorman 800-035.5 Fuel Line Adapter - 3/8 In. Steel Compression to 3/8 In. Nylon Barbed, 5 Pack Universal Fit. Hope this helps someone as I spent countless hours checking all this to fit.
