Well designed for writing in the dark
I'm a song-writer, and I get most of my inspirations at night. If I don't write my ideas down straight away, they're forgotten by morning. And if I turn on a light to write them down, it wakes my wife. So for years I've bought pens that light up at the tip. But with the first few makes that I tried, the battery and ink were not replaceable, and when either ran out the pen became useless for its intended purpose. So I was very glad to find this Glowseen make where the battery pack and ink cartridge are both replaceable. You get two pens in a pack – one with red light, one with white light. It's well made and well designed, with just the right level of light to light up the paper near the point of the pen. The red one especially does not wake my wife (although the click occasionally does). They write easily and smoothly too.So I was very happy for the first 6 months – until I changed the batteries. When reassembled, neither pen would light up. I dismantled and reassembled them, and the red one started working again. The white one did not, so I emailed the Support address given on the instruction leaflet. I got a reply within a few hours, promising to send me a replacement. It arrived a few days later - and with extra pens as an apology!Of the replacements, one white one did not light up, until I dismantled it, and reassembled it. Then it worked fine. There must be some subtle aspect of the assembly such that, occasionally, electrical contact is not made. The instruction sheet seems clear, although it's in tiny print and the English is not perfect. Perhaps the company could print the instructions in larger print, and/or put a video on the Web showing how to reassemble the pen after changing the battery pack.My reply from Support was signed by “Julia”. I'm in the UK. I notice all the other reviews of this product are from the US, and one of those says he too got a reply from “Julia”. So I get the impression of a small company that really cares about customer relations. And it is a well-made product, perfectly designed for its purpose.
