Magnet strength is not as good as some I've had in the past.
This is the second batch of magnetic name tag backs I've purchased, although the manufacturer may be different. This batch seems a bit wimpy, and won't hold firmly through thicker fabric.

Great for name tags

Perfect for securing shade cloth to metal raised bed gardens
I read about this hack and didn’t think it would really work. This raised bed has tomato plants in it. I have full Sun all day and lots of wind. Drape the shade cloth over the cages and place the magnets about 1 foot apart over the cloth to the metal sides. Works like a charm!!! Even in heavy wind and rain the cloth stays put and helps protect the plants.

WORKS WELL ON 2 1/4" BUTTONS
I make 2 1/4" buttons - the kind that have sayings, advertising or political stuff on them. It's my hobby - what can I say, everyone needs a hobby. Anyway, some people did not want to use my standard "pin backs" as they didn't want to put holes in their good clothing. They requested magnetic backs. My button part supplier stopped making magnetic backs because of the expense. However, they do make a flat, plain back button. With a little experimenting, I discovered I can put these adhesive magnetic backs on the flat, plain backed buttons. The size is perfect for the 2 1/4" buttons. The adhesive is super strong. I have had experience with these quality magnets in the past for customized name tags. I know how strong they are. I charge more for the magnetic backings. So far there have been no complaints. Everyone is pleased.
