Great device for a Great Price
This device is great. I was looking for a way to get some home videos I had on VHS to DVD. I looked around and a VHS/DVD combo that copies typically runs for $250 (the $150 ones dont copy), I then looked at services different stores had and Walmart and Walgreens charged $25 to $35 for each DVD which to me was a little pricey. So after reading some reviews I got this device and it works awesome. After I got it, I installed the software and drivers for my PC, hooked up the adapter to my VCR and once I found the right capture format it played right on the computer software it came with. I was able to record my tapes to digital files. The only downfall I found was the software it comes with isn't very great at making DVD's if you want to put in chapters, menu, or really edit the film. So I made digital files from the captured film and used my software I already purchased "Movie Edit Pro" for making DVDs. But for the price of this device it's a no brainier that this is the best option.

It worked great. Now it does not work
I uploaded about 40 VHS tapes with this device. It worked great. Now it does not work. At first the video stop working but I still had audio. Then a few minutes later the audio stopped also. It is a cheap product. You get what you pay for.

Took a chance and so happy I did
Throughout the years my dad has recorded so much on his camcorder. The videotapes are just laying around now and I thought it would be great if I could transfer them all to my external hard drive but didn't know how to do it. After researching, I came across this awesome solution but had so many products and brands to choose from. I decided to take a chance on this particular product MyGica capit video capture and have not regretted it since. I was hesitant because of some bad reviews but this little device has been nothing but great. I did run into a small problem while installing the drivers and software since I don't have a CD drive but I just followed the instructions on a previous review and everything went smoothly from there. I have a surface 3 running Windows 10 and have had no problems with the device or the software. The software imo is really straightforward and easy to use. For the price, this product is a must buy!

An altogether solid and well priced choice, but with some minor issues
I recently purchased the MyGica Capit to digitize some old VHS baby videos. As part of a recent project, I have been consolidating all of my photos and videos into one library. Knowing that magnetic mediums, such as VHS, only have a certain lifespan, I also thought I should go about digitzing my tapes. After doing some research, I realized my options were to either send the VHS's out to a professional, which could be pricey, or digitize them myself with an adapter such as this - so I purchased the adapter.I definitely made the right choice. When I received the disk with the product, I was easily able to install the software onto my Windows 10 computer - none of the issues that I saw in some other reviews (I think they updated the software). I grabbed an old VHS player we had lying around, hooked it up to the Capit, and got to work. When you record the video, you have the option of having the software stop recording after a certain amount of time, or you can manually stop it whenever you want. It also records in real time - there's really not any other way it could work anyways - and I enjoyed watching and listening to the preview as it recorded. My only issue is the post production options in the software. Even though including an ability to edit the clips, and add things like text was a nice thought for the included software in such well priced device, it was really a huge pain, and the export to file option would not work for me. So, I ended up popping the videos into Sony Vegas 13, and cropping, editing, and rendering them there, instead; however, if you do not have another editing software, you may just be out of luck.

Works great! Simple, inexpensive, does the job very well.
For capturing analogue video, this device worked perfectly on my Win 10 laptop (i7 with 8Gb membory). Installed with the CD, connected the 3 cables to my 1998 Cannon Mini-DV camcorder, hit Play on and then Capture on Arc software it started to create an mpeg2 file on my computer. About 2 Gb per hour. One thing is that it keeps capturing even when the 1 hour long tape has ended- so you've got to come back and stop it when the tape is done (I accidentally captured an extra 18 Gb of nothing). The Edit feature is non-intuitive - I still have not quite figured it out - apparently you can mark a start and end to an existing mpeg and move that segment to a new file or build a project out of segments. Great price under $20, delivered within a week. I shopped for weeks before getting this one and I am quite happy. I have captured 16 Mini-DVs into mpegs on my laptop.

Software Blows!
The capture device works excellent! The software has areas and functions that the manual does not cover, an example would be creating chapters in the Produce Stage that should of carried over when in the Editing "Timeline" Stage that don't so you have to cut up the whole movie and create them when you already did! That's BS! Buying better software for this.

This product worked as advertised out of the box with no issues. Saved me BIG bucks!
Got is the day I ordered it (FREE! Thanks a prime). I installed the software (Win7) with no issues. I hooked up the capture device to the pc in a USB 2 port and then hooked up my ancient Samsung 8mm camcorder to the capture device. I selected the first NTSC option on the capture tab. I then hit play on the camcorder and capture on the pc. Worked like a charm! Picture and sound are good (it's ancient tape, I can't really expect too much). Using the timeline, I can see exactly what's captured frame by frame, and cut sections to different files. I purchased this to preserve old family tapes. It will cost me $20 to buy, and will take about 40 hours, but I saved at least $400 dollars over what it would have cost me to have the tapes captured at a photo shop. I'm so glad I looked for this first, and that I took a chance on this product. I would definitely recommend it.
