Makes streaming on PS5 way smoother
This little remote is a super handy upgrade if you use your PS5 for more than just gaming. It’s lightweight, fits nicely in the hand, and the layout is simple and easy to use. The dedicated app buttons are a nice touch—just tap and you’re watching Netflix or Disney+ in seconds. Way better than fumbling with a controller every time. Setup was quick, and it connects instantly. If you stream a lot on your PlayStation, this remote makes the whole experience way more chill.

Husband LOVES it!
My Husband absolutely loves this. He uses his PS5 at least 3-4 times a week and this makes it much easier to maneuver especially if his controller is charging and we wanna watch a show or movie!

Better than Samsung!
This remote is awesome. I have a Samsung TV for the last 4 or 5 years and since day one, the Samsung remote didn't work well. You have to stand in specific places for it to connect to the tv and it's like you have to wait for the tv to do whatever before pushing the next button. I got the PS5 remote primarily to watch shows or movies on my PS5. The option to be able to use it for my tv was just a bonus. But since I've had it, about 24 hours now, the PS5 remote works better on my tv than the remote that came with it! I don't have to even point the remote in the direction of the tv and it still does what I need to do immediately. Every time I turn the tv on using the Samsung remote, it defaults to Samsung TV channels and because the remote doesn't connect well, takes some time to select source and switch to PS5. Sometimes the volume is up from the night before and the Samsung remote doesn't respond to volume or mute buttons for several seconds when you first turn it on. ( I'm sure my neighbors love that.)But with this PS remote, when I turn the tv on, it automatically takes me to PS5 screen/source and responds to the mute or volume buttons immediately. The PS remote is small but it does what more than what I need it to do. The Samsung remote is larger but I appreciate that the PS remote buttons aren't as small as the ones on my Samsung remote and they feel intuitive. The Samsung remote has never felt intuitive, even after owning it for 4 or 5 years.I love my Samsung tv but they got to do better with the remotes. We have had 2 of these Samsung tvs and both remotes respond (or don't respond) the same way.I'm surprised that my satisfaction for this remote is less about the PS5 and more about the remote in general. And I'm willing to bet it even costs less than the price of replacing the Samsung remote if I needed to.The only things I'll say that might be cons is there is a weird curve to the back of the remote, it feels strange in my hand. I'm sure I'll get used to it. It's like Apple's Magic Mouse. Feels weird in your hand, like it should be bulkier or something. And the other, I had to be careful not to break the back plate off. The little push button on the back to get to the battery compartment doesn't work well. It took a few minutes to get it off and then a few minutes to put it back on. That's really a minimal issue though because how often will I be going into the battery compartment?! If you're reading this, just be careful not to break it.

Make to have rechargeable batteries.
I don’t typically leave a lot of reviews but I felt compelled to leave one for this. I’ve had my PS5 since release date. Just until a few months ago I used it for strictly gaming. Now I use it as a media hub for all my steaming. I was tired of using my remote and having to constantly worry about it going to sleep and constantly recharging it.A lot of reviews say “stopped working in the first month” or some similar. I will say my mine stopped working after about a month. The batteries died. I can only assume this is basically just a mini controller which means it’s constantly connected to the PS.Much like the remotes, after a certain period of time, the remote goes to sleep. There have been countless times where I could hit pause and it would pause immediately. Then there are times where I have to press it twice, presumably because it went to sleep much like the PS5 remote, so the first push is to awake it and the second is to register the command.I say all this and hope I can help some put off by the negative reviews. You either need a lot of double A batteries, or have rechargeable batteries. Thankfully due to my extensive flashlight hobby, I have a bunch of rechargeable double A batteries that are always on stand by. I know that is not feasible for most, and I agree the battery life is terrible with this remote. But buying even a 4 pack of rechargeable batteries and a charger, you’d really never have to worry about having to replace the batteries once they die.All in all, this little remote is great and I’m glad I don’t have to use my remotes anymore. Just keep in mind with the reviews that say they stopped working after a month. While it’s try, it’s not a faulty remote, it’s the extreme battery use this little remote uses.I remember seeing a reviewer mention a rechargeable USB-C option. That would be awesome and why Sony hasn’t thought of that blows my mind.TL;DR - have a lot of double A batteries or get rechargeable ones and you’ll be fine.

Not useless
Comes in handy. It was useful at the time when I didn’t have a smart tv but now I hardly use it. It’s a little finicky with the position of the sensor on my ps5 I think too because sometimes the buttons wouldn’t register right away for whatever reason. The back cover is a little cheap so be careful taking it off and putting it back- def use the button because I didn’t and ended up making the cover loose but that’s user error. Bought a silicon cover though and that’s perf for this remote.

Perfect.
Perfect for what I need. Connects easily and can also connect to your tv or home theater receiver.
