747-8 Intercontinental Sunrise Livery Die-Cast Model

It was a gift for a friend and he likes it, although he has noted in the past that some parts on Boeing models can be a bit delicate....not really made for kids to play with, I guess- display only!

Bought for 10 yr old grandson. Detail if beautiful, but, those details, engines, wheels are extremely brittle & break off if touched.

Has metal wings and is sturdier than other Boeing model planes I have gotten before. This was for my son. He has almost a dozen of them

This model is all plastic. Someone said it has metal wings, but mine were not. The body, however, is weighted inside to give it some heft. Yes, all the bits and pieces are delicate. This should go in a showcase or lighted cabinet and not be handled by children (especially young ones). The top of the fuselage has a pearlescent finish that does not show up well in online photos. Very fine detailing to all the windows -- even the wipers are imprinted near the pilot's positions. They sell this for $200 at the Boeing Factory near Seattle, so anything less than that is a bargain. Examine your contents immediately upon arrival because the box and supporting plastic trays are not the most sturdy -- I'm surprised this survives through Shipping. These are disappearing since the plane has now been replaced by newer jets, but I think this was the most striking paint design for the livery scheme of anything I saw on display at the Factory Gift Shop. There are metal die-cast versions -- they are much smaller (1:400 Scale, typically), without nearly as much detail. I bought this as a memento of my Factory Tour -- not because I'm such a Boeing or aeronautics fan. But I know great design when I see it. If you want metal -- to take a beating by kids -- you will need to avoid the 1:200 Scale.
