Barcel Potato Chips Toreadas Habanero 1.86 Pack of 4

I found an unopened bag of Barcel chips in shop's kitchen, since we all usually share lunches I asked who's it was, nobody claimed them so I opened them and shared with the guys. I WAS HOOKED!!! as well as the other guys. I'm a big fan of Barcel's other products, like "Takis" which have a more citric-hot taste. I like hot products because they go well as "botanas" (snacks) with beer or just when you want to suffer, with your mouth feeling like a volcano. These chips however, the hotness is well blended the flavor of "curtido or escabeche" depending on where you're from. ("pickling" for the spanish impaired). The vinegar flavor describe by other reviewers is in fact the flavor you'd get from the habanero and onion pickled topping of street tacos, but also present in a variety of forms in differing latin cuisines. The flavor described in the package is "toreado" meaning fire roasted. Typically, chiles toreados are just usually fire roasted, but I have tasted variations in which the chile is sliced on one end sprinkled with salt or seasoning and added lemon, lime, or vinegar inside and then fire roasted. I believe that's the taste Barcel was going for...GREAT TASTING CHIP for those with the palate for it.

I only paid this ridiculous price because I was jonesing for these , I believe, artificially hard to find chips. I have no idea why they can't keep retailers supplied, but I see all the other flavors represented at Walmart or smaller Mexican food markets. If this flavor is that hard to keep on the shelves, increase the production level on your master schedule. It is not even Purchasing 101, it's just common sense. Love the chips....hate the price.

These are my favorite chips! Perfect blend of lemon and spice. Wish they were sold in more stores. They are so hard to find! So glad I was able to find them on Amazon.

For some reason the taste is different from the one I purchase in the grocery store

I am always in the hunt for some new spicy chips to try and habanero is the perfect balance of spicy and flavor...however I did not do any research on this product and I wish I had. These chips have zero spice. Maybe, I got a bad batch or maybe my taste buds are broken but either way something is wrong. These chips just taste salty and a look at the ingredients there is no pepper listed. Wish I would have read the ingredients before buying.I normally do not write reviews but these chips effected enough that I had to share.Buyer beware. If you want spicy chips, these are not for you.

My fav chips aside fromt hot cheetos and takis! These chips are the perfect amount of spice and yes they contain alot of salt!! So binge worthy!! I need to invest in a family pack of these chips!!!

Love the flavor love how fast they came

It does have the same flavor but the chips aren't really the same. The ones sold in mexico are a lot softer and along with the flavor make it way more enjoyable. If you ever fidn yourself in mexico and like spicy chips, they're a must buy. Plus they're much cheaper in mexico for a bag that you can probably fit all the little packs you get from an order. I always buy like 5 big bags and bring them home. I was really hoping these would be the same even though the price is way higher, i wouldn't mind paying the extra amount if it was exactly the same.
