Best thing in the world!! Slightly acquired taste.
This stuff is a miracle! I've always wished there was just a pill I could take or something so I wouldn't have to worry about eating. I've never had a problem eating too much, my problem was finding the time/motivation to eat enough that I didn't feel tired! It's such a pain, who wants to take HOURS out of every single day to shop, prepare food, eat the food, and clean up the mess? I don't! Before Soylent I mostly ate cereal, frozen food and take out. I'm a picky eater and trying to come up with something that sounded good to eat every day was almost becoming a point of anxiety for me. I had begun counting my calories to see if I was eating enough and discovered I was getting maybe 800-1000 calories in an average day. I'd work all day and at 8pm desperately try to eat a day's worth of food all at once but just couldn't consume enough in one sitting. Now, since it takes no time or effort to prepare my food I can take in meals throughout the day, like a normal person, and I feel so much better! More energy and my skin has improved. Now, onto the serious matter of taste. When I first began Soylent they only had original flavor and I practically gagged my way through the first bottle. I was bitterly disappointed and couldn't imagine drinking 4-5 a day. I did some research and decided to try adding a little chocolate Nesquick to it. That worked great! I blew threw a can of Nesquick in under a month and when it ran out, I tried it plain again and discovered the original flavor wasn't so bad anymore. It just took a little getting used to. I still occasionally add strawberry or chocolate Nesquick to my original bottles, but it's not really necessary.Like some other people, I hated the Nectar at first sip. It tasted like floral perfume in my mouth, it was awful. But a couple bottles in, I found myself liking it and for a while it was even my favorite flavor.Similar to the Nectar, the Cacao wasn't great when I first tried it either. I thought it was too nutty and had a fake chocolate taste. That quickly changed and now it tastes like a perfect chocolate milk and is hands down the best flavor available. If I were to introduce a friend to Soylent, I would start with Cacao,I've also tried the powder and really really wanted to like it, but seriously couldn't handle the taste. I figured it would be an acquired taste for me, like the other flavors, but after a day and half of plugging my nose to chug the stuff and then trying to rinse the taste out of my mouth afterwards, I just gave up on it. I felt like I could taste wallpaper paste all day and night after a glass of Soylent powder!Other stuff:SALT. This one is kind of important. Soylent is very low sodium, which is good for you, but can make you crave salty foods, especially at first. I started craving potato chips and fries like crazy. Which was fine by me, I wasn't trying to restrict my diet, so I just ate some chips. But I eventually found it was cheaper/easier/better to just add a pinch of salt to a bottle now and then. Plus after 6 months or so the salt cravings are mostly gone, but I still enjoy some saltine crackers as my snack most days.OTHER FOOD is amazing when you drink 90% Soylent. I usually drink 4 bottles a day + a snack to reach about 1800 calories. All sorts of food are just bursting with flavor now! A sip of juice is like eating a delicious fruit candy drink. I don't feel deprived at all, I feel like I am able to appreciate all the little nuisances of taste and flavor, that most people so used to they don't even notice. The only bad bit: I'm addicted! I HAAAATE running out of Soylent and would pay a premium to go buy a case locally once in a while, when I am stupid and forget to re-order in time. When I have to switch back to 'regular' food, I feel sick. It's probably because I am pretty much dumping poison into a body that is used to a near-perfect balanced diet that is always the same. Running out of Soylent for me usually means starvation followed by pizza, burgers and frozen chicken nuggets, followed by diarrhea, lethargy and mood swings. :(

The Best Meal Replacement I've ever tried
I have been a loyal customer of Soylent for awhile, and will continue to be. It is a great alternative from using protein powders/shakes as meal replacements. There are many reasons that I choose Soylent over solid food/other meal replacement products on the market.First of all, I am sometimes too busy to prepare a meal, not even to buy one. I would rather have more time to sleep, simply get a bottle and go on. In between classes/during breaks at work, why don't I drink a prepared bottle and get some work done rather than spending time to drive/walk, and get in line to get food? Also, I have a relatively sensitive stomach and have some gastric issues so sometimes I struggle to eat. Liquid is just easier on my system. For the first few times though, I would highly recommend drinking the bottle as slow as you can. Like literally sip by sip. Not sure if it is just me but I did get stomach upset and a lot of gas when I first tried them. However, once my system gets used to it, my stomach handles them well now.Another reason of drinking soylent is that it tastes good and it is enjoyable to drink one! You eat, over eat and binge eat because you love the taste of food. And I just like the taste of Soylent. I have tried Original/Cacao for the regular 2.0, and Cafe Coffiest/Cafe Vanilla. They all taste good and I will stick to the Original one. It tastes like almond milk with a thicker texture, bland, simple and desirable. I don't think I will get tired of it. I personally like them better refrigerated, but they are just as good at room temperature when you have to travel with them. Moreover, it is super convenient and nutritious. You can't replace all meals with protein shakes because of the imbalanced nutritions, but you can do so with Soylent. I started replacing 1-2 meals per day and now I occasionally replace all my meals with Soylent. I am not sure if it is recommended to do so but nothing wrong with me so far. They are just satisfying and curbs appetites. I start my day at around 7 am and ends at around 10 pm. 4 bottles would get me through the day without suffering from one second of hunger.THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON I CHOSE SOYLENT IS BECAUSE IT IS SO AFFORDABLE! I am a college student that pay my own rent. Going to school full time and work full time, I appreciate how affordable these "meals" are. It is just around $2-3 per bottle depending on what flavor you get. Compared to a lot of solid food that are more expensive, may not satisfy hunger as much and some not as nutritious, I just can't beat the price of Soylent and how much it does to my body and my life. Thanks Soylent for keeping me survive!
