Works great!
I broke my finger last week and was given a splint from urgent care, from the start it was uncomfortable and would slide off frequently. I just received these new splints and WOW! They are so much more comfortable! Definitely get this set!! It’s a game changer! And they are light weight, kinda bulky but not bad, it’s definitely keeping my finger straighter then my other one

Better than what the surgeon gave me!!!
I have a pinky healing from a roller skating fall injury, a compound fracture. The surgeon gave me a splint that was too large and didn’t support my finger’s healing well. It would slip and move around. What was the person who fitted me thinking??? Plus, I had to use tape to keep it in and that was not the best, it’d get wet and dirty and needed to be changed often. I found these splints and decided to give them a try. The small plastic one with Velcro closure has been perfect!! I am certain that it has helped my finger to heal as it should. It keeps my finger in a position that keeps the bones aligned in a natural position and keeps the top slightly lifted, the lift puts a light pressure that assists the bones and my nail and skin to grow back together in the best ways possible. I am so pleased!! I thought I would have a deformity, or the injury would be obvious in some way - the splint has prevented those things from happening. When I remove the splint to clean my finger, it looks like nothing happened! Crazy, since the entire top of my finger was severed off…. The splint has protected my finger while it has been healing as well. My finger was hit a couple times while healing, which could have reinjured it, but the splint absorbed the impact and the strong material worked like a shield. I only used one of the 8, but I sure am happy to have all of them in my first aid basket just in case!!! I might buy another set to keep in the first aid kit I have in my car. I will not stop skating and after this experience, I know that being prepared for anything is better than not being prepared!

They are helping my finger heal.
These are working very well. The plastic ones are much more ergonomic than the one my orthopedic surgeon gave me at the office. Comparing both size #4, these are slimmer and the plastic has a smooth finish so they don't scratch your finger at the second joint when flexing the finger. People are complaining about the velcro, I took the velcro off, it comes off very easily (including the little adhesive part that attaches to the plastic) and I'm using surgical tape to keep the splint on the finger as the doctor showed me. You have to split the surgical tape in half and use the two thin halves of the tape you split to secure where your nail is (By the way, when inserting the splint, the doctor lifted my finger by the fingernail using his fingernail to prevent my finger from bending, since I have mallet finger, I thought that was ingenious!) and the other half of the tape toward the second finger joint but keeping the joint free. According to the doctor you want to have that joint free to be able to flex. This is working wonderfully and the splint stays as long as I want. The aluminum one, I'm using whenever I have to take the plastic one off to wash. It's good but a bit bulkier. I also wouldn't sleep with the aluminum one on because it can just slip off your finger. The plastic one with surgical tape is much more secure and won't scratch your furniture if you forget you are wearing it, which does happen since they are very comfortable...I would wear the aluminum one when having to go to the doctor for an x-ray, for example, since it's much easier to take it off than taking the tapes off and putting them back on the plastic ones. The aluminum ones are almost perfect for short term use. I wish they were more ergonomic like the plastic ones though. If they could shave off one of the sides to accommodate the bending of the finger at the second joint they would be amazing (highlighted picture).

Sharp edges & for small hands only
The beige plastic splints run small and the sharp edges cut into the skin on the top and near the nail, which is nasty on a tender injured finger. They also have a slight backwards curve, so not good for protecting a broken or sprained finger so it will heal straight. It does appear they would be good for protecting a cut on a thin lady's or men's pinky finger if was first wrapped with several layers of gauze to pad and protect it from the plastic splint itself. The metal splints are fairly standard, and good replacements for similar ones where the lightweight foam is getting too compressed or worn. They are also good to have on hand in a First Aid box, since sprained and cut fingers are common injuries and need immediate protection from mindless 'normal' activities to minimize pain or further injury.

Perfect for my arthritis top knuckles! I have tried many.
Tried many. I put a thin gauze piece inside to absorb moisture, makes it comfy. I can bend mid knuckle and still use fingers. Yes as others said Velcro not so good, I agree. However, I just bought a roll of half inch velcro for cheap in anticipation of failure. Because after trying all those black velcro ones, this is way better. The black ones get wet. These do too but you can simply dry it off. I am in hopes it keeps my top knuckle from bending off to one side from arthritis.

Fit small fingers!
Tried many splints, and they were all too large...until I found these. They are wonderful and comfortable. I do wish they came with sleeves for under the flesh tone ones though.

Perfect splints for broken fingers
I broke my little finger on Monday and I knew the kind of splint I used years ago for another broken finger was what I needed now. I buddy taped my little finger to my ring finger while I went on Amazon and located this 7 pc finger splint set which I ordered on Tuesday and received on Wednesday. The metal little finger splint fit perfectly, was comfortable , and is exactly what I needed for my broken finger to heal. I anticipate using the smaller plastic splint when the finger is healed for protection for a while since it is smaller than the metal splint but also is comfortable. I highly recommend these splints.
